Dancin' (A Karaoke Fic)

"Hn..." Heero grumbled.

"Come on, please?" Duo begged. "It'll be fun."

"I wouldn't mind singing a few tunes myself." Quatre smiled.

"You ...?" Duo raised an eyebrow.

"My musical ability isn't strictly violin, Duo."

"He also plays the 'phone." Trowa chimed in.

"Oh lovely." Duo remarked. "Just what this world needs. More sax and violins."

"Omae o korosu." Heero muttered. They had to have planned that one. Stuff that awful didn't happen without extensive planning.

"Please?" Quatre and Duo asked, giving him two puppy-dog-eyed expressions.

"Hn...." Heero agreed. He pulled into the karaoke bar's parking lot and the group went inside.

They sang a few tunes. Then suddenly, while they were taking a break and enjoying sodas, they heard an irritatingly familiar voice.

"This is for my Heero, the love of my life." Relena announced as she began to sing in a tune akin to those sung back in the days of World War II.

"Anybody blue?
 Anybody needin' someone, to... 
 Anyone feelin' cold .. 
 no one there you can hold. "

She drew close to Heero and ran her fingers through his hair, smiling at him as she continued to sing

"Don't wait to get old and grey,
 cause I'm gonna blow all the clouds away
 cause there is nothin I would rather do."

She sat upon his lap and stroked his face a moment, teasingly, as she sang the chorus:

"Forget about blues tonight, sweet thing
 Forget about the rules tonight, sweet thing
 I wanna dance with you
 Til the sun is shinin' through
 I wanna dance with you
 I won't stop pleasin' you.
 Aaaaahhh...."

She slipped off his lap and lifted his chin to look into his eyes for the next verse.

"Honey for a while,
 Give a girl a chance to show some style
 If you got no love to spare
 Tell me lies, I don't care.
 You better believe that I.
 I know some music you gotta try."

She came dangerously close to kissing him during the last line.

"Cause there is nothing I would rather do."

"Forget about blues tonight, sweet thing
 Forget about the rules tonight, sweet thing
 I wanna dance with you
 Til the sun is shinin' through
 I wanna dance with you
 I won't stop pleasin' you.
 Aaaaahhh...."


All at once Duo grabbed another microphone and began singing couterpoint.

"Hey, I wanna let ya know,
 I won't take a back seat.
 Ain't willin' ta let ya go.
 I won't take a back seat."

He grabbed Heero and pulled him away from Relena drawing him close

"Don't wanna hear what you want
 It's gonna be all my way.
 And I'm makin' sure you stain the seat.

 I'm really a selfish man
 I gotta get right to it.
 Lover, tonight, I'm thinkin' of me."

Duo suddenly pulled Heero into a very powerful liplock for a breathtaking moment, then pulled away to sing the chorus:

"Lover, I won't take a back seat tonight.
 Lover, gettin' on my two feet tonight.
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you

 Can't let anyone get to you"

Duo gave Relena a meaningful glare, then returned his attentions to Heero


"I won't take a back seat
 Let me show what I can do"

Here Duo ran a seductive hand over Heero's hip, pulling him close, delierately making sure Heero knew just how damned aroused the Perfect Soldier was making him.

"I won't take a back seat
 Ain't funny to fool with me
 I'll be a bad loser
 You're gettin' me mad usin' me"

These were more than just song lyrics to Duo, Heero realized. Duo meant it. Duo had wanted more from the relationship he and Heero had together. And Heero...

"Tried puttin' a spell on me
 Cause I get a strange feelin'
 Ya better get down ta healin' me."

Heero blinked. Was Duo hinting that there might be a way to salvage things?

"Lover, I won't take a back seat tonight.
 Lover, gettin' on my two feet tonight.
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you
 Cause I'm dancin with you."

//He wants to be in control tonight.// Heero thought. //He thinks my always being in control shows lack of trust in him. I find it so easy to let others control me in battle. 'go on this mission', 'kill that girl and her puppy'.... would it really be so difficult to do it in bed? It might even be fun... And I don't want to lose Duo....//

Relena glared as Duo restarted his chorus and restarted her own, each standing on either side of Heero, the two choruses blending as they both brought the joined songs to their conclusion.

Heero turned to Relena with a smile on his face.

//He chose me.// she thought, triumphantly. //He chose me! My Heero loves me!//

"Omae o korosu." he said.

"Come on, Heero." Duo said, holding out his hand.

Heero obediently took the hand Duo was offering and let the braided pilot lead him out of the room while Relena stood there, alone, looking like she'd just been offered a lightly toasted weasel on a bun with french fries (1)
