Congragulations!

The Most realistic course in the contest which was designed by Hanser and Ferchoff ran off with the first ever Donald Ross designer's trophy.

Here are the reviews and scores of the courses.

Placid Valley Wicks and Ferchoff

hole #1 - Great looking tee shot and approach. This hole's tightness scares me to death to play the rest of the course. (10)

hole #2 - Boring but ok. Not much here to comment on. (6)

hole #3 - Excellent creativity. Well designed. Great appearence. One of the best par 4's in the contest. A perfect hole (10)

hole #4 - A very good and challenging tee shot, and an ok approach. A good hole, but not great (8)

hole #5 - Overdone creativity. Not that fun to play. Just aim and hope you get the right bounce and roll off of the tee, and the approach is bland. (5)

hole #6 - A nice quaint little par 3. Totally different from the last hole. (9)

hole #7 - Slightly ugly, but fun to play. Good idea, but its not by any means a great hole. I like the big greenside bunker, but it seems like this is a 3 shot par 5 and it has a large receptive green. Not bad. (7)

hole #8 - I like the risk reward, and the approach is pretty good, but the looks are lacking a bit. (8)

hole #9 - This hole has it. it just works. (10)

hole #10 - I like this hole. It's pretty creative and looks nice. The tree's by the green make the approach interesting, and the water makes the tee shot intresting. It might be just a bit too open around the green. Good hole. (9)

hole #11 - Weird, but not wild. Good approach. Solid but not special (7)

hole #12 - Nice little hole that looks choppy and sad, but it is fun and I like the way you mix it up w/ this small of a hole. (8)

hole #13 - Its an okay hole. The tee shot is nice, but the hazards on the approach don't really scare me. (7)

hole #14 - Don't care for the tee shot but the approach is good. Small green is a decent fit for this hole, but the hazards made it work. (8)

hole #15 - Nice tee shot. Fun to play. Approach looks ok. Nice hole to play. (9)

hole #16 - Semi blind/choppy par 3. It plays ok though. (6)

hole #17 - Can't really see the approach, but this is still a great hole. It is very fun to play and has a nice tee shot. This is a good hole #17. (10)

hole #18 - It looks choppy and you can't really tell what is going on. I like the way the tee shot plays by getting tighter as you try to add distance, but it doesn't look good or flow well. It plays ok, but kind of wacky. Not bad, but its a bit overboard. (7)

Overall Feel- (5) I didn't think the 2 of you blended your styles well to come out w/ one general idea for the course. Maybe I am wrong, but it seemed as though there could have been more communication.

Blowfish Harbor by Clark and Bowen

hole #1 - Nice looking tee shot, but the 2nd is pretty lame. Not that fun of a hole to play, but its alright. (6)

hole #2 - Very good use of foilage and flowers. The appearance is spectacular. An awesome par 3 over water. (10)

hole #3 - Not a bad hole, its a good tee shot, but the 2nd is creative, but not that challenging. (8)

hole #4 - A great hole to play and just to look at. (9)

hole #5 - Tight, and nearly impossible. Not bad, good creativity. The approach might have to bend around the corner if the tee shot isn't long enough and thats kind of fun to play. (7)

hole #6 -Good, hard par 3. Its tough to fade a 3 wood to a right pin position. (9)

hole #7 -Occasionally choppy, but its a different type of hole. Pretty easy to just lay up on all the shots though. (8)

hole #8 - The tree off of the tee looks like its in play, but its really not unless you hit a really short or really long tee shot. The approach is a good change up. I really like this one. (10)

hole #9 - Now this might be the best par 3 in the contest. Certainly the most senic. It flows into the background well. (10)

hole #10 - Forces challenging shots, but doesn't look great. Good layout though. (7)

hole #11 - Very creative use of an elevated tee. I love the idea that you can bite off as much as you think you can chew, but if you mess up you make an easy hole hard. Beautiful approach. One of the best par 4's in the contest. (10)

hole #12 - The second shot plays pretty blind unless your laying "way" up. Not the best looking hole yet its slightly interesting to play. (7)

hole #13 -Pretty bland, but I like the use of the interesting background here. (6)

hole #14 - Once again the background is used well again. The tee shot is very interesting and the second is fun as well. Good par 5. (9)

hole #15 - Not bad, it plays well, but doesn't look the best or force the player to think. I like the other set of tee's but this par 3 is lacking something. (7)

hole #16 - Fun par 4 to try to reach, but it doesn't look the best. Its pretty good though and well bunkered. (7)

hole #17 - Great par 3 that is very senic. Another one of the top par 3's in the contest. (10)

hole #18 - Creative. Nice looking tee shot, but the 2nd, eventhough it has a great waterfall, doesn't look that great. Once you get up by the green things look good. Not a bad hole to play, but not a good finishing hole. (7)

Plot - (10) Far and away the best I saw. Great art work.

Sangre De Cristo - by Hanser and Ferchoff

hole #1 - Very smooth and inviting opening par 4, well designed, avg layout quality but nice at the start. The approach could have been a bit better though. very nice use of the river. (9)

hole #2 - Tee shot has an odd view of the river because of the designer, but this should have still been blocked from our view by a tree or something. Also the tee looks unnaturally elevated, but not bad. The 2nd shot is perfect except the bunker is not very visible, it looks choppy. Great strategic hole that is awesome to play, but needs to be edited for looks. This is a great hole that deserves a ten, but I can't award it due to the sloppy design quality. (9)

hole #3 - Pretty nice, bunker behind the green doesn't look great and the water off the tee looks good, but it seems like it could have been worked to look great. A good hole, but nothing special. (8)

hole #4 - Tee shot is ugly and not very smooth, but I don't think you were going for the smooth look. It is a challenging tee shot and a very good approach with a splash of creativity. (8)

hole #5 - Plan and simple an awesome par 3. It doesn't get any better than this. One of, if not the best par 3's in the contest. (10)

hole #6 - Pretty boring, but the uphill approach makes you think and is difficult. (7)

hole #7 - Pretty boring, but it flows well and is strategically challenging. Things were put in the correct places and it is a good hole, but asthetically it is lacking (8)

hole #8 - The tee shot is pretty blocky but the approach is great and creative. I really like the layout here. Good creativity. (9)

hole #9 - Great par 3 again, but once again it is downhill, I hope this does not become repitive in holes to come. A good distance and a fun hole. (10)

hole #10 - Looks pretty choppy and you don't really know what is going on. Plus, it isn't that intersting to play. (7)

hole #11 - A nice uphill par 3 that plays fine. Not too tough here, but its a good hole. (9)

hole #12 - Very interesting. I love the tee shot. The bunkers look perfect and make you think twice about adding a bit of distance off the tee. The water, however, makes you think that you don't want to take any distance off either. The approach is also very nice looking. A well designed hole. (10)

hole #13 - Kind of a sleeper hole. Even though it contains water, it looks very straight forward. Though if you take it easy on this hole at all, it will surely bight you in the ass. Winds could also make this a tough one. Good hole. (9)

hole #14 - Not really that much fun to play. Creative? Yes... Choppy? Yes... Score... (6)

hole #15 - A good long par 3 that makes you hit a solid tee shot. Fun to play, but it could use a touch up for its looks. (9)

hole #16 - I don't really like this hole following the par 3 that was about the same distance, plus the green looks oddly, and unnaturally straight. The fact that it is right after 15 may make me lean toward a lower score for the overall feel. It is fun and well designed though. (9)

hole #17 - Nice, simple, almost choppy though. I like it. (9)

hole #18 - I like the idea, but the tee shot doesn't look great and unless you hit a booming drive, you can't see whats going on during your second shot. Good hole, but could be better. (8)
