This classic layout was another great course by Muzny, but nothing really stood out as being great. It had a good pallette and was a solid course, but It wasn't outstanding.
The course was a good fit for Muzny's style. It didn't have too much elevational change, and it was a classic design. The pallette flowed very well, but the water could have been toned down a tad to make it feel a bit more realistic. Hitting the fairways is the only challenge here on this course, that I don't think plays all that hard.
Good job Muzny, an excellent rendition of Callaway Gardens. I hope Muzny can keep releasing more course similar to this one.
Well, this course holds special memories for me. I won a PwP event at Callaway Gardens in October this year, beating Bob Leore for the first time, in a playoff. I shot a round of 60 in round 3 as well.
Anyways, the scenery on this course is quite good. The pallette/background/objects all flow well, and as usual in a Muzny course, no messy elevations. The only thing I don't care for about this course is the bright blue water. It's quite distracting.
Playing this course for four rounds in a row really makes you see what you have to do to score well here. And on this course, it's hit fairways. Missing fairways leaves a shot around a tree most of the time, which puts a premium on hitting fairways.
My favourite hole here is the 15th, a 525 yard par 5. You can play a big fade for your second, but it is over water, to a green that is almost an island. Eagle is possible here, but so is bogey and worse.
Overall, an excellent effort by Randy Muzny.
