General: -The point values on all of the ships are guesses, so any evaluations of them are welcome. -The Heavy Gatling Cannon is the one system causing the most worry on my part. I want to make a weapon that is powerful and accurately simulates the effect without being too powerful or confusing to use. See the Weapons document for more info. Ships: -Alnathor Heavy Frigate -I don't know. Maybe a tad bit too maneuverable? -Alshar Heavy Cruiser -I'm thinking about removing the Plasma Beams to make this moe reasonable. -Calgreena Heavy Carrier -Like the Avenger, it is there to bring 4 squads of fighters to the battle. -The matter cannons can be used with a hard lock to whack a fighter. -Calkima Light Carrier -A cheaper way to bring a swarm of fighters to the board. -Is a Capital ship only because it can be used to lead a squadron (i.e., tournament Cap ship). -Calshina Supercarrier -Any resemblance to a Poseidon is strictly convergant evolution. -Also like the Poseidon, only for those days you absolutely need 96 fighters on the board. -Dauntless Battlecruiser -Thinking about upping it to Limited deployment. -Thinking about dropping the armor values a bit, make it feel a little more like a real battlecruiser. -Dunshev Light Cruiser -It's supposed to be somewhat of an escort cruiser. That's why there are so many Dual arrays and Gatling Defenders and only two Matter Cannons. -I'm thinking about dropping the turn dealy to 1/2, but I don't know if its appropriate. -Elthin Patrol Cutter -Yes, it is a fragile thing with not a lot of fire power. -It is redeemed a bit by the flight of light fighters it carries. -I'm thinking about changing the primary armament to 2 Particle Cannons. Thoughts? -Engalthon A Attack Frigate -A speed boat with some nasty plasma guns bolted onto the front. -Is three plasma beams too much? -Engalthan B Attack Frigate -The navy wanted to test out their fun new gun somewhere, and it seemed like fun putting on a fast frigate. -Is the extra Dual Array too much? -Enshar Heavy Cruiser -Seems like a reasonable and balanced design to me. -Fearless Battleship: -I currently can't think of anything to say about this ship. -Gorthon A Destroyer -This seems like a good setup for the ship. -Gorthon B Destroyer -I can't decide if it should be a beam or a cannon in front. The cannon seemed like a better idea for a structure crunching gun. -Invincible Dreadnaught: -I currently can't think of anything to say about this ship. -Nanshan Scout Cruiser -Yes, I could make it a variant, but it was massively reworked and is typically built new. -Should it retain the figher compliment of the original? -Ranfarthor Missile Frigate -I can't think of anything in particular questionable about the ship, other than its existance in the first place. -Ranshan Missile Cruiser -Same variant deal with Nanshan. -The primary gatling defender was original a class-r missile rack, but after a few years they figured out that there was a 600% increase in the chance of the ship blowing up on a lucky hit, so they decided to increase the survivability of their precious missile cruisers. Fighters -Sparrow Light Fighter -This is basically the Delta-V of their local space. -Raiders buying extra thrust is because the hull has room for more powerful engines then are installed in the police/training role, and extra thrust is helpful in their mission. -Raptor Interceptor -A fast medium fighter desinged to do its name. -Is 13 free thrust too much? -Kestral Heavy Bomber -A stand-off bombardment unit. Not meant for close combat, though it has powerful enough guns to do some damage. -Are all of the advantages too much? -Hawk Heavy Fighter -Goes well with a Gorthon. -Nice balanced heavy fighter, in a league with Auroras. -Falcon Assault Fighter -New, nasty addition to their fleet, utilizing an improved Centauri weapon from 2 centuries ago. -Should it be able to fire both guns in the same turn or not? I can't decide. -No missiles as that would be a bit much.
