IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR EXTEND-A-STAY KITS 536 STANDARD KIT 537-00 DELUXE KIT
Division of S.H. Leggitt Company
L.P. gas demands respect and understanding if it is to be used safely. It is important to know that inside every properly filled L.P. gas cylinder there is both liquid and vapor. The liquid vaporizes in the cylinder and becomes a gas (vapor) that is then supplied to the L.P. gas regulator on your R.V. The regulator reduces the pressure of this high pressure gas and regulates its flow to all the appliances in your R.V. Again, your regulator and the appliances it feeds are designed for vapor.
Your new Extend-A-Stay kit is designed to give you new flexibility with how you use your L.P. gas. You can stay longer by hooking up to auxiliary L.P. gas vapor cylinders, or you can safely tap into the R.V.'s L.P. gas system to fuel portable high pressure appliances.
The new Extend-A-Stay tee fitting is designed to be installed between your regulator and the vapor valve on your R.V.'s L.P. gas cylinder, this means it is ahead of the regulator so the gas that goes through it is still high pressure. See picture #2.
Installation:
1. Turn off all gas appliances in unit.
2. Close the gas vapor valve on your L.P. gas cylinder.
3. Unthread the brass P.O.L. fitting from the gas vapor valve (This is a left hand thread so turn the brass nut with the notices on ^clockwise to loosen.).
4. It will be necessary to move the P.O.L. fitting with the attached regulator and hose back away from the gas vapor valve far enough to place the Extend-A-Stay tee fitting between them. This usually requires moving the regulator cover too. See Picture #4.
5. Thread the male P.O.L. end of the Extend-A-Stay tee into the cylinder valve -again, a left hand fitting (turn counter clockwise to tighten.). See Picture #1.
6. Thread the original P.O.L. fitting in the female P.O.L. end of the Extend-A-Stay tee. This is also a left hand thread (turn counter clockwise to tighten.). See Picture #2.
7. Securely fasten regulator and hose assembly to vehicle to avoid possible damage due to "over-the-road" vibration.
8. Tighten all connections, turn gas on at cylinder valve and check for leaks with an ammonia-free soap solution. If bubbles appear, tighten connections until bubbles stop.
9. Re-light appliance pilots.
