I did need to remove the spring pack holder and I found the best way was with a grinder.  The new ones supplied did a good job.

Here is the final assembly of the front spring pack with the new leaf spring holders in place.  The add-a-leaf had some pre-drilled holes for the leaf sping holders to be attached.  This seemed to be a solid connection and looked good.
