| Having good looks was always an advantage for the KRU bros'... Norman,with the eurasian -chineese kind of looks,Yusry,the adoring,innocent preety boy who resembles Luke Perry, and Edry,the tough,mafia looking kind of guy. Among the three,Yusry,was the most sought after member in KRU.The fact that he doesn't talk much and smiles a lot,was enough to make girls go ga-ga.. Norman, however,do have fans of his own.So does Edry.Being good looking is kind of an advantage in a way,being able to attract fans,having girls screaming hyterically and being adored greatly.But ,like every thing in life ,there are the pros and cons..The bad thing about being adored are the fanatic-die hard fans.There was an incident once,when the bros' were followed back till' they reached home.It was kind of freaky.They were also times,when Norman got mysterious calls from a certain fan who claim to be his afterlife love.Some fans ,even went to the stage of telling norman's mother claiming to be his wife. But the bublegum-factor also had it's disadvantages.It jeopardise and over-shadowed KRU's real talent. Critics started to question the boys talent to be able to sing live.They also questioned KRU's rap songs as proper music. Allegations of KRU not being able to sing live ' was proven wrong,when they grabbed their first AIM award,Best Vocal Performance (Group) in 1994. They also began having concerts ,and lauching their own company named "KRU Productions" (now ,KRU Berhad) In the end,people started looking at KRU in the whole,not just from one perpective..People started to respect their work.One reporter even labelled them as having BLT (Brain,Looks ,Talent) The controversies.... |
