| The brothers,who comprises of ,Norman ,Yusry,Edry was born in a well-bred ,loving -6 member family. Their father ,Abdul Halim Bin Kamal , from Batu Gajah,Perak,is well-educated and qualifies as"Fellow Chartered Institute of Transport".He also held the manager post in a Malaysian petroleum company.Their mother,Zarina bt Abdul Wahab Fenner,from Gopeng,Perak was born on 2nd January 1953 and has mixed' blood of chineese,australian,and malay.KRU's sister ,Halina was born on 7 Jun 1978. As children,the three brothers,Norman,8,Yusry,7,and Edry,4 have always had a certain passion for music. They were die -hard fans of the ever-so-popular group,The Beatles.Badminton rackets were used as a subsitute for guitars and biscuit tins as drums...(yusry play'ed the drums) Each one had their own idol in mind...Norman (John Lennon),Yusry (Paul Mc Cartney),Edry (Ringgo star@George Harrison) Sometimes,they would have their own 'Top of pops' chart..They would also perform for their uncles and auunties,compeeting against each other. In their early teens,the brothers learned more about music producing while grewing up in London.Yusry learned more about song arrangements while Edry learned more about sounds,mixing ,technical ,recording and etc. After returning to Malaysia,the brothers continued with each one's studies.Besides that,they always took the oppurtunity to watch their favourite team ,Selangor ,play in the Malaysian Semi -Pro. To show their support for the team,they composed a song ,"Viva Selangor",a rap song sung by Norman,which later ,they sent to the Selangor FA. Suprisingly,the officials enjoyed the song and made a special request for them to compose another song.So ,they composed the song,"Merah Kuning". The officials loved the song so much that the song was played in front of 40,000 selangor football team fans. Gaining more confidence,they continued to compose songs and recorded them.Their demo-tape was passed from one person to another among Norman's friends.Without their knowledge,the demo-tape was given to Calvin Wong,International Department,EMI (M) Sdn.Bhd.Calvin then later suggested the brothers to compose songs which had more commercial value.From there,it was clear to the bros' that their music talent was appericiated by people.So,they composed a few more songs for Calvin to hear. After Norman took his A-levels,they brought their new demo-tape to EMI.In the interview,Calvin asked the bros' why they wanted to join EMI..So,Norman replied saying that all their idols are under the EMI label.They were told to wait for a week for an aswer. Later,the same night,Calvin contacted them and told them to come tomorrow to sign the contracts.Their life as a music band began... The journey begins.... |
