From I-5: Take the "Market Street" Exit #256. Go west on Market Street. Turn left on Commercial Street. Keeping in the right lane, take Front Street. Turn right at Union Street (the first light). Follow this road until it spits you into a parking lot. (You will drive past the A.C. Gilbert Disvoery Village, which is a very cool place to stop if you have children with you!!! If this sounds like a good plan, bring $5 per person).
Park close to the turn-around. Walk down the boat ramp, toward the river. Before you get down to the actual water, look for where the hard meets the soft. There is a log with spikes hanging over the end. Lift the spikes and you will be rewarded.
From here you should have a great view of the river. If you go when there aren't many people, you will be serenaded by the birds and frogs!
