Saying goodbye to someone is never easy. Especially saying goodbye to our brother we so dearly love and it is
the last time we will say goodbye. Saying goodbye to our brother has been almost more than we can endure.
Still, somehow we must find the strength. We are strengthened by one another, and God of course, but
we also gather strength by remembering the good times we shared. We remember growing up together, the
birthdays, Christmases and special time we spent together. We remember the laughter we shared and also we
remember the tears. We remember teasing and torturing each other like brothers do but we also remember the
moments of comfort that we enjoyed.
When we think of you Jim we think of how much you enjoyed life. How much you enjoyed simple pleasures.
You loved your family, you loved nature, you so enjoyed a good cigar. You also loved people and people
loved you in return. You have so many friends and you were always willing to offer your opinion and lend
a helping hand. As a matter of fact, you enjoyed giving your opinion regardless if there were interest
in hearing it or not..
We continue to struggle with making sense of losing you Jim and it is most difficult for us to imagine how
anything positive could result from our tragic loss, but it must because you would have wanted it to. Several
things glow in our minds.
Life is short for all of us and nothing is more important on this earth than family. As your family Jim,
we must find ways to be kinder and gentler toward one another. We must think before we act. In
spite of our love for each other we too often say or do careless things that cause needless injury.
We must continue to avoid those unnecessary remarks that can cut so deep and hurt so much. We must look
past our human faults and let negative things from the past pass with you.
As a tribute to you Jim, our
dear brother, son, nephew, uncle, cousin or friend, we pledge to start each new day with a kind word and your
extended hand toward those we love.
We miss you and love you Jim and we will remember you always.
Goodbye Brother
