Famine Relief
In February of this year, the youth participated in a 30 hour Famine.  From noon on Friday through 6pm on Saturday, they ate nothing except popcicles.  Friday evening through Saturday evening was spent at the church at a lock-in.

What did we do?

Friday evening:
*** Service project -- Assembling pages for Mission WV Adoption program
*** Movie -- Amazing Grace
*** Candlelight Service remembering the children 100 children who will die in five minutes from hunger and preventable disease.

Saturday:

*** Slept late!
*** Bowling
*** Communion to break the fast
*** Dinner -- lasagna thanks to Chef Jeff

In response to the weekend, the youth and their leaders cut out 1200 paper dolls and hung them in the Sanctuary.  This is the number of children who die during a worship service.  Congregation members were invited to rescue each child by donating $1 to hunger prevention efforts. Sam received an award for the Best First Year Chemistry Student from the Central Ohio Valley Section of the American Chemical Society.
