With many years of calling experience under my belt, I have come to know squae dancers as friendly, caring people. I hope you will read and think about what I am going to say.
I would like to propose that all clubs utilize the attached card at their dances, and even talk with clubs in other areas about this.
CALLERS WIVES LIKE TO DANCE, TOO!
I PICKED THIS IDEA UP FROM THE LADS & LASSIES SQUARE DANCE CLUB.
I believe that most square dancers are not trying to ignore caller's wives, but they just don't think about them sitting on the sideline. Most enjoy dancing, and most a very capable dancers.
I have talked to many of my fellow callers, and found this to be a common problem. We as callers love what we do, and we don't want to see our wives choosing to stay home.
CALLERS WIFE'S DANCE CARD
Click on the link at the bottom of the page to view a dance card. Wait for the picture to completely load,close any commercial windows, and print a card. Fold into quarters to make a card.
Set the card out at the treasurer's table and members & guests can sign up to dance with the caller's wife. Before the dance begins, give the card to the caller's wife, and let them know you're glad she's there
