On the Fence

When I was about seven or so we lived in a house that had a fence in the backyard which was about six feet high.  One fine day I climbed up and sat on the fence.  For an unknown reason I decided to lean over backwards holding on with my hands, head hanging down, feet swinging over my head, with my shoes pointing to the low ground behind me.  If I let go I would crash down, upside down, head first.  I had to think this over for a while. If I let go, I would crash head first. After hanging for quite some time, and getting tired of it, I decided there was a chance I would land on my feet if I held on with only one hand, and let my body swing around in a half circle. So I let go with one hand.  After my body swung around, I let go with the other hand.  Kerthump!  I hit the ground on my hands and knees on the other side of the fence. Never again would I try to do acrobatics hanging upside down on a fence.
