recipe - good over hot rice! 3-5 pieces tri-tips (can use other kine meat like Chuck Steak but Tri-Tips the best. Cut strips into 1/4 inch slices or thinner. Include the fat - das da bes' part. If you one dinosaur-put plenny meat, if you one plankton eater-go eat one saimin). 4 pieces garlic, diced 1 block firm tofu (drain water, then cut into 3/4 inch cubes) 1 Maui Onion, sliced 1 tsp. coarse black pepper 2 T oyster sauce (adjust to taste) 3 T shoyu (adjust to taste) 1 bag "chop suey mix", fresh 1 bag bean sprouts, fresh 2 T vegetable oil Go make rice before you even start this project 'cause you goin' be done in 2 shakes. Find your biggest, deepest frying pan and hope for the best. Pour oil in pan and add garlic till da bugga gets hot and flavorful. Brown tri-tips (no overcook 'em - just lightly brown til red 3/4 way disappear). While cooking meat, add pepper, Oyster Sauce and shoyu to taste. When meat is cooked, throw in the onions and tofu cubes (drizzle a little more shoyu on the tofu) Mix da bugga up - get 'em all full of flavor - no be scared if the tofu breaks up. Afta couple minutes throw all da sprouts and chop suey mix on top. Cover pan with lid and turn off heat in 3 minutes. Let sit for maybe 10 minutes then mix everything all up again. Bus' out one plate, scoop some rice then cover with Tofu Tri-Tips. |
