Tempura Batter
Tempura Batter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
salt to taste
1 heaping tsp baking powder
yellow food coloring
1 Tbsp oil (add before water)
Water till smooth (1/2 cup + 1 Tbsp)

Flour peeled and deveined shrimp, with tails still on, before dipping in batter.
Fry in hot oil over medium heat. Also good for vegetable tempura.
