Sam's Quick and Easy Italian Sandwiches

4 Sub buns
4 Italian sausages Sweet, mild or hot
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
1 jar of pizza quick sauce

Broil or grill your sausage until done. Take your buns and slice open. Like a hotdog bun. Spread some pizza quick sauce inside, then lay your sausage and cover with cheese. Wrap with foil and place in oven or grill just long enough to melt cheese. Add mushrooms or whatever. Have fun.

Philly Steak 'n Cheese

Since 1930, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, you can order a Philly Sandwich. It starts with the worst meat imaginable, just look in your frozen food section for sandwich steaks', blistering hot cheese is added, onions and roasted bell peppers finish off this masterpiece. My brothers, William and Henry love this 'Nutritionally Challenged' Food.

4 frozen sandwich steaks (about 24 oz.)
1 jar (8 oz) Cheez Whiz
2 tablespoons butter
1 large sliced onion
4 Italian sandwich rolls
oil for frying roasted green peppers (kind of optional, critical if you ask me)

On a large griddle fry the onions in a little oil. Remove the onions and add a little oil if needed. Fry the frozen steaks, breaking them up in pieces while grilling. The meat will cook in about 2 minutes. Add back the onions, mix with the meat and turn down the heat while you prepare the cheese. The cheese will be done in just a minute. Place the cheese and butter in a microwave bowl. Heat on high for 1 minute, stopping to stir every 20 seconds. Split the rolls in half but don't cut all of the way through. Remove some of the inside of the roll and place the roasted peppers inside (or skip this step). Place the meat and onions in the roll and top with the hot cheese.

Makes 4 sandwiches.

Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sandwich

This is from the restaurant that originated the sandwich - Big Daddy's Diner.

3 tablespoons soy oil
1/2 cup diced white onion
6 (1/8" thick) slices rib eye of beef
1 Italian roll, slit lengthwise
1/4 cup Cheese Whiz (white American also served)
Ketchup and pickle relish - optional

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to a hot skillet and cook the onions until they just begin to brown. Add the remaining oil to another hot skillet and cook the beef about 45 seconds on each side until just cooked through. Put the meat on the roll and top with the onions and Cheese Whiz. Add ketchup and relish if desired.

Yield: 1 sandwich.

Suggested drink: Hank's Root Beer.

Tip: For uniform meat slices, the rib eye is sliced while still semi-frozen.
