Instant Takuan
4-5 turnips
1 Tbsp salt

Boil:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup japanese vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp salt
1/2 tsp msg (optional)
yellow food coloring

Cut turnips in small pieces and sprinkle with salt. Soak for 20 minutes then drain.
Pour the boiled liquid over and mix. Store in jars in refrigerator.
