Flank Steak with Garlic
Cubes of marinated flank steak stir-fried with garlic. Served with a dip of pepper and lime juice.

1/2 lb. flank steak, 3/4"~1" cubes
1 Tbs. oyster sauce
1 Tbs. Maggi Liquid Seasoning
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
5~6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
oil
lettuce, coarsely chopped
Chinese parsley, chopped
black pepper
limes

Put meat cubes in a bowl.

Add oyster sauce, Maggi, sugar & cornstarch.

Lomi for a bit, then let marinate in refrigerator a few hours, or preferably over night.

Heat ~1 Tbs. oil in a wok over high heat until very hot.

Add beef cubes & stir-fry until well browned & starting to caramelize, 4-5 min.

Add garlic slices & stir-fry another minute or so.

Serve over a bed of coarsely chopped lettuce, garnish with Chinese parsley.

Serve with dipping sauce made from ~1 tsp. black pepper & juice of 1 lime for each diner.

Wrap a cube of meat and some slices of garlic with a piece of lettuce, dip in the pepper/lime juice and eat!
