THE WAY I FEEL
THE
WAY I FEEL ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS, IS IMPORTANT TO ME.
WHY
IS IT SO HARD FOR YOU TO SEE,
THAT
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE WAY I FEEL?
JUST
HELPING ME WORK THROUGH THEM WILL HELP ME HEAL.
FOR
WOUNDED FEELINGS ARE SLOW TO MEND,
AND
ACTING LIKE THEY'RE TOTALLY HEALED IS ONLY PRETEND.
FOR
HURT FEELINGS TEND TO STICK AROUND AWHILE,
THEY
MAKE IT REALLY HARD TO SMILE.
EVEN
WHEN YOU REALLY TRY,
THE
FEELINGS ARE AWFULLY HARD TO DENY.
SOMETIMES
THE THINGS SAID TO REALLY MAKE YOU FEEL BLUE,
IS
NOT WHAT THEY MEANT TO SAY TO YOU.
SOMETIMES
WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY,
REALLY
COMES OUT SOUNDING THE WRONG WAY.
THINGS
SAID TO YOU IN THE PAST,
CAN
FIND WAYS TO LAST AND LAST.
NO
MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS,
SOME
OF THE THINGS SAID REALLY STINK.
IF
PEOPLE WOULD ONLY WATCH WHAT THEY SAY,
THEN
MAYBE THEY WOULDN'T HURT SOMEONE'S FEELINGS TODAY.
FOR
IF WE CAN TREAT EVERYONE ELSE,
LIKE
WE'D WANT TO BE TREATED OURSELVES.
THEN
THERE WOULD BE NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE,
AND
EVERYONE WOULD FEEL A LOT MORE WISE.
