Watching Over You
There are things that happen
that we will never understand,
The whys and should haves
and ifs and ands.
Things that seem to dwell
with us every day
And cloud our minds and
get in the way.
You have to think of the
love that you two share
And know he took it with
him when he left here.
All the good times, the
jokes and smiles,
The little things that make
life worthwhile.
He is no longer sad where
he's at
And he hurts no more that's
a fact.
He watches you shed your
tears
And wishes he could calm
your fears.
Dad, I am in such a better
place
Please don't keep such a
sad face.
You know I love you, there's
no doubt.
Please know you had nothing
to do with what came about.
There was just something
inside of me
That caused me such pain
that I had to get free.
I am so very sorry that
I hurt you.
That is not what I intended
to do.
I'm sorry, I guess I just
didn't think.
It happened so fast that
I couldn't even blink.
Dad, know my arms are tight
around you.
I'll always be with you
no matter what you go.
But for now.......,
I'll be watching over you!
Dedicated to my friend,
David Parnell
