Lesson Plan 1Spelling Exercises for the Year
Spelling exercises for the year in room 11 may differ from the procedures used in other classes. So please follow these procedures for each spelling test accomplished this year. Each time a spelling list is introduced, there will be a pre-test. Then, if the score on the pre-test is 85% or better, the student has the option to DO THE WORK and then, hand it in, then take a post-test. If the score on the pre-test is 80% or below, the student must DO THE WORK and then take a post-test. There will always be three steps in the work.
- Lump or order ALL of the list words at least once either in writing or on the computer using www.puzzlemaker.com.
- Write respellings from the dictionary for every error on your pre-test.
- Write a sentence for each part of speech this word could be in a sentence (only for errors).
When students are satisfied that work is the best that it can be , the best test score will be recorded and students will pre-test on a new list of words.

Evaluation
Students' behaviors in a class devoted to spelling will reflect that students have integrated these procedures into their practices. My aim is to make sure that each student will be able to see the proper procedures to succeed in spelling for the entire year. If students follow procedures, I will be able to see pre-tests with errors marked , and work for practice, and then see improvement in score on the post-test.
