Joseph Mooney was born in Paterson, N.J. and has been drawing and painting ever since he was old enough to hold a pencil. In 1979, at the age of 6, he won his first Art Contest for a drawing he sent to the local newspaper. Throughout his elementary school years he continued with his art, winning awards occasionally in local contests, but began to slacken off due to other interests in music and sports. It was during his sophmore year of high school, he began contemplating what he would want to do for a career. He had always excelled in art so he decided to jump back into it again. Although he took some classes at his High School in Little Falls, N.J., virtually everything he learned was on his own.

Joe says, "You really can't teach somebody how to draw or paint, it comes from within you". He worked hard developing a style, spending all his time painting studying the great Masters and their technique.

Joe moved to PA. in 1992 and is convinced he can make a name for himself in the "Art World". He believes his art will be very popular since he paints what he thinks people would like to see.
