Creative Writing Reflections
Marlow Letter
This was a piece of creative writing done in response to reading Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. I was not particularly fond of this assignment due to the fact that we had to interpret exactly how Marlow felt and how Conrad meant to depict the story. However, I feel that I did a pretty good job of interpreting Marlow's plight in the "heart of darkness."

It was creative due to the fact that it was not another typical essay, but a letter instead, which made all of us really think about how to compose it and who to write it to.

To further improve the paper, I could mirror more of Conrad's diction and syntax.
Why Don't I Have Time?
I usually dread writing poetry, but I had a great time writing this particular piece. I was very frustrated at the time when I wrote this, and I think it really shows.

I decided to keep the poem exactly the way I originally wrote it, simply because it was the one piece of poetry I actually felt positive about.

This poem was our first assignment of the year in English 4 AP, and I was already feeling stressed out due in part to schoolwork, ballet, and all of the "beginning of the year" activities.
