Additionally, the motor mounts were both replaced (it now runs smooth!), and an exhaust leak at the header was welded shut. The car sounds and runs great.
I also repainted the valve cover and intake manifold in high-temp silver paint with black Porsche lettering, it looks great. I'll get some pics as soon as they are developed.
Total bill - approximately $3300. This includes the labor for a mechanic to put it back together, plus $700 for a set of used camshafts, plus the head repair and remaining parts.
