The Bard's Tavern Computer Gaming Page
Top Ten Lists
Commodore 64 All Time Greats!
Where it all began...
1) Bard's Tale I-III (of course) [Interplay]

2) WasteLand (forerunner to Fallout) [Interplay]

3) Defender of the Crown [Cinemaware]
4) Pool of Radiance [SSI]
5) Santa Paravia
Comments: The Bard's Tale is what inspired the Bard's Tavern BBS.
WasteLand took gaming to a new level and years later inspired
the game Fallout. Defender of the Crown by Cinemare set the
standard for computer game graphics in it's time and had a unique
interface that has not been duplicated since. The gold box D&D
games are regarded as some of the best of all time. Santa Paravia
was originally for the TRS-80 but was updated for C=64, it had an
economics model and goal setting that paved the way for other games.
The Ten Best Amiga Games
1) UFO aka X-Com (AGA) [Microprose]
2) Wings [Cinemaware]
3) Civilization (AGA) [Microprose]
4) Dune [Virgin/Westwood Studios]
5) Wing Commander [Origin]
6) Black Crypt [Raven Studios]
7) Colonization (ECS/AGA) [Microprose]
8) Hired Guns [Psygnosis]
9) Dune II [Virgin/Westwood]
10) The Settlers aka Serf City [Blue Byte]
Comments: UFO is still one of the best squad level tatical games, Wings is a
game that was to the Amiga what Wing Commander was to the PC. Dune I and II is what later inspired the developer to create Command and Conquer. The Civilization/Colonization series continue to be a gaming grate. Hire Guns was a very early multiplayer adventure in a pre Internet time in computer gaming.
