Larochka's Chronicals:
Prejudice vs. Racism
What's real? What's truth? What's right? All sincere, reasonalble questions; which answers could never be answered rightfully by any man.

We all have a basic understanding of reality, fact, fiction, right, and wrong. Although, maybe, our whole simulation of these 'realities' aren't quite right..  Is it really wrong, to form your opinion about someone without even knowing them?  Oh!, it's natural, something we can't help cannot be wrong, but it certainly isn't right?

How can it be wrong if every single person can be accused of this crime?  It's uncontrollable, you can't control your thoughts, and by trying not to think of something, often times... you end up thinking about it more! So, where does that lead you!? Absolutely NO WHERE!

Then why is it SO wrong to judge races?  Isn't this practically the same type of discrimination, as judging socielitical class?  Most rich people are snobs.  Or, even judging working class:  most lawyers are theifs... What about cultures? Most Americans are fat, most Germans are strict, most Russians are drunks...

Then we get a little bit more specific, to the point where it's become a very touchy subject in these times.  Most negros live in ghettos.  All of the sudden, the topic has hit a sensative spot in our society!  Sure... it seems wrong to judge a whole race without knowing each individual "personally." Although, one must remember, it's still an uncontrollable sensation--automatic human response, that either came about from your upbringing or more so often, EXPERIENCE. Can we really help, but be a bit racist, or prejudice sometimes?  I don't think so, and society, today, is filled with hippocrites! Shocking, isn't it!? I am 100% sure everyone at one point or another has formed some sort of stereotypical or prejudice opinion concerning someone!

Infact, this reminds me of a recent incident that occured in my area, over the past few weeks.  A young Caucasian male, 17, had been driving intoxicated, and collided with another car.  The driver of the other car was a young Negro man.  This boy, was trialed, and by all means, try to guess what his sentence was? Sixty years. 60 years in jail! That's probably the rest of his life! Not even murderers get jail sentences of 60 years! This is outrageous!  Yes, it's tragic, another human being lost their life.  The man's family will have to deal with this for the rest of their lives, and losing someone is, as most of us know, very hard.

Then, look at it through this boys' stand-point.  He feels terrible, he killed someone, unintentionally; although, of course breaking the law.  He has to live for the rest of his life confined, knowing that he killed someone, and he's broken a lot of hearts, and not just those of the man's family, but of his own as well.  The boy is 17 years old, hasn't even begun his life, a minor, and his life is over.  I'm sure the boy is wishing it would of been him who died in the accident, and not only because of the jail sentence he has to carry-out, but because of the pain, and reality, that took the life of a person.  That is a very difficult burdon to carry, itself!

What I don't understand, why so long?  Everyone knows the facts.  This boy is a MINOR, 17, he was driving intoxicated, he hit another man UNINTENTIONALLY, although was breaking the law.  Normally, jail sentence is lower than this.  I mean, 60 years! The sentence might as well of been for life!  What's the difference?

I thought about it, a bit... I noticed the WHOLE Negro community was at this trial.  Half not even knowing the man, but they were there, sobbing their hearts out, influencing the Judge, the Jury... pressuring the Judge, knowing, that he might not be up for re-election if he lets these people down, or possibly even be called a RACIST!  One of the most feared words of an Anglo-Saxxon Caucasion person.

This is one subject that's very dear to me.  It depresses me a bit, that my own race of people, fear this.  We are afraid of so many things, including myself, afraid of being accused with disscrimination.  This seems so unfair, but as I know, life is unfair.  How can this society be so obsessed with Racism against minorities!  I understand that, the Anglo-Saxxon race is a majority, here, in the USA.  Although, I don't understand how we've become so obsessed with this topic.  Why are we afraid? - because we'll lose our job if we say something a bit unappropriate?  It seems like everyone EXCEPT the Anglo-saxxon white male, has advantages in this world.  Minorities have better chances with job oppurtunities, benefits, paid-schooling...  I say MALE, because, Anglo-saxxon women, still get a few more benefits than the males.  It doesn't seem like we are an equal oppurtunity nation.  All men ARE NOT created equal, in these times.

I remember, a young friend of mine, once telling me... she applied for so many scholerships, and government financial aid, and hardly recieved anything.  All her friends, hispanic girls, practically recieved their college for free, and we living at home worry free, all the time in the world to do their assignments.  My dear friend, working, five days a week, to pay for her schooling.  She was of German and French decent, although American ofcourse, and her parents we middle class.  What she told me, made me a bit angry at what our society has come to.  She said, "You know, it seems, that everyone except

Even if you get more in depth, and think about racism and prejudice, it appears that:

Racists, after all, are only more experienced prejudists.  A racist has formed their opinion on the majority of a certain race/culture of people, while a prejudist, still has to go through the trouble of ONLY "seeing" the person to judge.

After all, notice I said, "majority."  If you ask most people who sometimes view society by a stereotypical stand-point, they'll often times tell you it applies for much/many/most.... of the specific group, but not all.  I won't deny, there are those extreme racists, often times hicks, who are so incredibly arrogant, as to would state such slander as, "Kill them all," in reference to a specific race. What utter nonsense... and if you haven't noticed I was being stereotypical.  When I wrote, "hick," I pictured an American from The South, degree in cow tipping, dirty, and an inbread who's married to his cousin.

Where did stereotypes even come from? They've must of come from some where. Obviously, I have to say, stereotypes must be overall true, or else they wouldn't survive.  I can make up a stereotype right now, most females are engineers. Do you really think that's going to last? Definetly not! Why? Because it's so undoubtly not overall true.  Most women don't become engineers.  That field is overall man orientated, how could a stereotype like that actually survive, when there's no credibility!

*Negro - no one dare be offended when I use this word, for some reason people these days seem to be offended with the use of this word.  Especially when a Caucasian person uses this. Why is this? It's the technical term for a race.  Would you rather perfer me write, "black?" Is this more comforting to you? Personally I think that's more slander than, Negro.  Do you really think an Native Indian, would prefer being called, "brown?" I think NOT! Or maybe an Oriental, "yellow!"
