| My Mustang is a mass air converted 1987 Mustang GT using a 73mm cl meter and A9L computer.The car originaly had an iron headed gt40 lcrate motor with an E303 cam and powerdyne. However, that engine threw a wrist pin and a hole was burned through the number 4 cylinder head spark plug opening. The new engine is a 11:1 compression 347 stroker with Scat crank, SRP pistons, Victor jr aluminium heads z303 cam .552 lift int/exh, 1.6 motorsport roller rockers, ported GT 40 intake, 70mm tb, and custom cold air induction. The cars fuel system uses 24lb injectors, 255lph in tank pump and adjustable fuel preasure regulator with gauge. The chassis is braced with subframes and rolls on 16 inch rims with 24545zr16 oz monte carlo rims. The exhaust on the car is mac 1 5/8 shorties, mac prochamber and 2 chamber flow master mufflers feeding pipes run throgh the rear valence. The trans is a t5z which is grinding now bad and the clutch is a king cobra The rear has auburn diff plus 3.55 gears. Upgrade electronics include msd 6al, smart spark timing computer, jacobs ultra coil and accel 9000 wires. Engine monitoring is done through Autometer sport comp water tempature cyberdyne air fuel meter, and autometer oil preasure gauge. | |||||||||||
| The engine output at the flywheel is no less than 400 and no greater than 500.(update I under guesstimated the car has 520hp flywheel on the dyno 455rwhp ) The car has not been tuned yet. I will someday soon get the thing dyno tuned but for now hears the list Of cars I beat on the road. 1st victim was an over cocky teen in a 1984 Mustang GT he had 3.73 gears, headers, Off road pipe, flowmaster, kn and bumped timing. I had what seemed to be 10 car lenghs on him in seconds. The next car to loss was a 1991 bone stock Iroc Z lost by a mile. The third car was a challenge a 2004 Corvette with an auto yes I know an auto but I did not gain an edge till around 70mph then he lost by what seemed about 10 car lengths. At gas station I asked him if he tried he replied " I over reved in an attempt to catch you in third I was over 6000 rpm." I don't even race the 4 bangers with thier wet fart mufflers not even the new lancer evo or sti. They'll lose I used to beat these with my old 11psi powerdyne setup on a 1993 transplanted cobra engine with an e303 cam it was close and at the track I ran 12.7's all day. My next goal is to build a fuel injected 351 based stroker out to a 427 to handle the guys who run 10's or 9's. I am also thinking about building up an 85 svo 4 banger to run ricers with. Over the spring of 2005 the car will be getting repainted and a new tremec 5 speed installed. I am looking to take some weight off by replacing the hatchback with a fiberglass unit and replace the heavy interior seats with lighter seats. My goal is to shed 100 additional pounds off . |
