John Marshall High School |
Class of 1994 |
This was sent to me by a fellow John Marshall Grad, I did not attend because I informed him that I thought it was insulting that most of the Minority kids that attend John Marshall now will not be allowed to attend the new John Marshall, the new district lines have almost everyone that live in neighbor hoods East of Penn will be going to Eisenhower. It is really upsetting that all the Old John Marshall Alumni will set on their Butts and let this happen. When the board was going to close or try and move Douglas the Alumni stepped up and now they have rebuilt Douglas in the same area, I have tried to make as many meeting as I can and I wish more parents and Alumni would come out and show some support, since the district lines have been drawn the only thing we can do is try to make sure that the new Eisenhower have the same type of facilities as the new John Marshall, if not all the kids that live in the Western Village area, North Highlands, and Musgrave are going to suffer. Please contact all your old class mates or anyone that attended John Marshall and tell them to get INVOLVED there will be another meeting in March at Eisenhower, you can go on the Oklahoma Public School Web site and pull up the time and date.Seventy One of you came out for a great time and great food. Alums and Future Bears were all in attendance and ready for the New Building and Continued Rebirth of Great JM Traditions. The JM Choral Group - Coffee and Cream did a fantastic job entertaining us. Mrs. Caton, JM Fine Arts Director and Chorus Director can really be proud of the Harmony of this group of young men and they have been chosen to preform for the District Stars In Education Program in the Spring. Pom Poms, Bears, Water Bottles, Glo Balls and Golf Towels went quickly. Our District One Board Member Al Basey was there to meet and talk to the group and is excited about your enthusiasm and commitment. He knows this really is going to be the super school he has been counting on. Additional JM information: This Friday night will be the last regional basketball game played in the old gym. So bring several friends and about $5.00 each plus some concession money and come live history as we move from the past to the future. The Bears will start at 7:00. The Boys are ranked number two in 5A. Also the JM Academic Decathlon Team came in Third in the District Competition under the direction of AP History Teacher Terrell Brown. After finishing sixth for two years its great to be a medalist again. He really has these kids excited about competing. Last JM Wrestler Charles Shelton qualified for the Wrestling finals this!
