This trip was taken the end of April, 1995. We stayed one night in a cabin on the South Rim and then caught a early morning shuttle to the South Kaibab Trailhead. The trail to the Colarado River is about 9 miles and stays mostly on ridge tops. The last few miles drop quickly and were hard on the knees. We spent two night in a campsite along Bright Angel Creek. The water rushing through the creek would rise all day from snowmelt on the North Rim, and by evening, you could hear rocks rolling by underwater. We took a dayhike up Clear Creek trail where the views of the Colarado are spectacular. On the third day of our trip, we started to hike out of the canyon on the Bright Angle Trail. We spend our last night at an Indian Gardens campsite. From here we could walk to Plateau Point, were we watched the sunset that evening. Our last day in the canyon was spent hiking the rest of the way to the South Rim.
