| We start the year with a review of 9th grade literary terms as well as introducing the 10th grade terms: COMP/LIT I TERMS allusion antagonist atmosphere biography characterization conflict (external, internal) dialogue epic, epic hero epilogue fiction figurative language (metaphor, simile, personification) flashback foil free verse genre irony (situational, verbal, dramatic) legend myth narrator plot point of view prologue protagonist pun setting soliloquy suspense symbol theme |

| This year we will be reading stories from authors such as Amy Tan , Mark Mathabane, Leo Tolstoy, and Alice Walker! These are truly beautiful books :o) |
