6/7/2001 - Note

My new burner arrived. It's a 16x Plextor, and it's really fast. It's up and working perfectly, so I'm ready to go.

5/28/2001 - Note

The burner is still out of commission. If I don't get it working today, I'm ordering a new one. One way or the other, I should be ready to go again this weekend.

Here we go:

  1. You have to use grade A media. I’m pretty strict on this. I’ve experienced what happens with bad media, and I don’t want to go through it again. I’ll only accept Mitsui or Taiyo Yuden without prior arrangement. I realize TY makes media for others, but we still have to work out beforehand the use of any other media. My reasoning for this is that I’m not the most knowledgeable guy about this kind of stuff, so I usually have to ask for verification from someone with better knowledge on this subject.
  2. No burning from either side until we have reached a final agreement! Sometimes I have more than one trade going at a time, so my wish list might change. Wait until we have both signed off on the trade before we start wasting CDs.
  3. I will happily do 2:1’s. Keep in mind that rule 1 still applies, though.
  4. Change 8/6/2001: Due to the rising cost of postage and the falling cost of blanks, All 2:1's must supply their own postage and return mailer without prior arrangement. If you do supply your own postage and return mailer, I'll cut the ratio to 1.5 to 1. I had to change this policy because it was actually costing me money to do 2:1's.
  5. Know going in that I’m a very busy guy, so I might not be the fastest person to trade with. I will make every effort to be prompt, but sometimes circumstances are beyond my control.
  6. If you’re getting more than 10 discs in 2:1, pick some extra stuff. I’ll usually throw in extras to account for the occasional bad burn or other mishap.
  7. This should be rule #1: Be courteous! I haven’t had any trouble with this so far, but I’ve heard the horror stories. I’m an honest guy, and I would never try to rip anyone off or take advantage of them. However, I am not an expert in this field, and there may be problems of which I am unaware. If I’ve made a mistake, please let me know IN A NICE WAY! I will do what I can to take care of it.
  8. This goes along with the last rule. I make no claims as to the quality or validity of these recordings. I am relying on information provided by others. If I send you something but you were expecting something else, it could be because I was misinformed. I’ll make every effort to validate these claims. If you turn out to be correct, I’ll send you another show to make up for the error. I use a Plextor 16x with Burnproof and extract with EAC, so you can be relatively sure you're going to get an exact replica of what I have. As for what happened to the stuff before I got it, who can say?
  9. No refunds! I’ll burn different shows to make up for mistakes, but I’m not going to send you money for postage, blanks, etc.
  10. I don't trade artwork. I'll send you a link to where it is posted online if you need it. If it's not posted online, I'll scan it and post it myself. I don't have artwork for everything, though.
  11. Please no mp3-sourced material. I realize this makes no sense to some people, but this is what I want.
  12. Shows should be recorded in DAO format. Please no 2-second gaps, reindexing, etc.

OK, now that we have the unpleasant necessities out of the way, let me reiterate: I’m really a nice guy, and will do everything I can to make our trade go smoothly. If you are nice and honest, too, we should have a great trade.
