The End is Near... Again

Winter time... It's getting chilly outside. Last night at about 1 AM I was walking from my car to the house and I looked up at the sky and I could see lots of stars twinkling.  I tried to find words as I looked at them to express what I feel... the overwhelming feeling was that I have so much to learn.  There is a spell binding book called, The Witness of the Stars.  If you ever get a chance to... check it out!

My life is as a breeze which blows for a moment and is gone.  I am expendable.

A breeze... it could all be reduced to nothing more than a luft in a sail... here today, gone tomorrow.  And so I'm looking for that which has lasting value... Trade winds. I trade my breath for that which breathes eternal. The breath, the human spirit, the life of this body must be blown by a higher wind.  Meandering winds gathered up into the mighty Spirit... the One who sets it all in motion.

Are there prerequisites to be considered? Governing principles? Scientific laws?

All the inventive anecdotes and preconceived notions... all the entertained, individualistic, stylized, pet spiritual practices... All the cleverly contrived philosophies and ideologies... they all begin to fade and lose their weightiness and attractiveness as Armegeddon draws ever near.

And where will our loved ones be when the lights go out?  Will we have done all we could've done when we stand on the precipice of what lies beyond this life?  Will we have stood guard at the bed of our sons and our daughters, our brothers and sisters?  Have we cared for the weak and lonely?  Have we protected the defenseless? There is an enemy of our souls.  Let us who have mouths that speak, feet that walk, eyes that watch... let us be vigilant.  "Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build at all.  Unless the Lord keeps the city, the night watchmen guard it in vain."

There's the answer beyond the scope... beyond what stars can utter... beyond the frequency spectrum of our senses...

The Infinite One cannot be kept in a box or a building... He chooses to live in the hearts of men and women.  There can be miracles... when you believe...

there can be miracles... when you believe beyond what you can see, reason, feel, navigate, map and analyze.  It's off the charts!!!!

But we must not forget what the Bible says, ...there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? for... all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation?" ...But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens and the earth shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation (lifestyle) and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (II Peter 3:3-10)

"All things continue as they were... "
A grave error in judgment.  It would be foolish to ignore the words of the Bible, to ignore the still small voice in your heart, to turn away from these warnings and to not ask God to show you if He is who the Bible says He is.  It would be foolish to trade in eternity for casual, fleeting, temporary fun in this life.  More and more of you are beginning to realize that along with this author... this breeze... blowing briefly through your life.

Seek the God of the Bible while there is still time.  Time is all we have.  Soon it too will be over.  And eternity for us will begin.

God made every provision for our freedom so that our love for Him would be real and not robotic.  He gives us the liberty to choose.  He gives us His love to circumvent judgment.  Let the spectacle of Jesus Christ on the cross be the stark reminder of God's ultimate statement of commitment to us in love, He has paid the price of His own demand for justice.  This is no mere passion play.  This is responsible fatherhood.
