Admittedly experimentation with the intellect and senses is appealing.  Even the apostle Paul agreed with that!  In so many words, he stated this in an openly read letter to the churches: If there is no promise of heaven awaiting us, if all there is to live for is this present life, then we as Christians are among all men the most miserable, we might as well eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die (
paraphrased I Corinthians 15: 19, 32).

There are some who advocate the introduction of chaos and rebellion, destruction and evil as a necessary component to a balanced life.  This is the underlying, common difference in all belief systems and world religions outside of the Judeo-Christian (Bible-based) ethic.  It is evidenced in the Yin and Yang symbol, and many others, where the two elements (black and white) are shown forming a perfect circle (representing the union of good and evil).  The origin of these false religions is found in the book of Genesis -- right from the serpent's mouth.

Its not just about living a good, clean, moral life.  Its all about remaining uncontaminated from the destructive forces that are set in motion all around us in the world.  God warned the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, not to partake of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  The serpent, Satan, tempted them to go ahead and check it out.  He did this by questioning Gods motive and suggesting that He was just trying to deprive them of something that would complete them and make them as gods. In reality they were already perfect and created in Gods image. Their decision to disobey Gods commandment set in motion the destructive power of sin in their lives and thus the forces of corruption, corrosion, decay and degeneration which causes pain, human suffering, disease, sickness, death and sorrow till this day.  "The soul that sins, it shall surely die."

"Flee fornication (promiscuous or premarital sex).  Every sin that a man does is outside of the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body."
(I Corinthians 6: 18)

The most severe of all sins is the sin of premarital or extramarital sex.  Why is this?  The bible is very clear about this being so.  But understanding why this particular sin is so destructive will take a little more study into the scriptures.

Not only is sexual union the strongest biological urge that we have, it goes much deeper into our lives than just the physical.  The two people engaged in sexual intercourse shall become one, even in the event of casual sex, it is stated throughout numerous passages in the Bible:

"What? Dont you know that he which is joined to a whore is one body? For two, God says, shall become one flesh." (I Corinthians 6:15, 16)

There is a communion of souls and an impartation of the heart that takes place in the act.  In fact, as I will illustrate in future studies, when you have sex with someone who is not your lifetime partner, you lose a piece of yourself (your soul, psyche, or heart) and take a piece which is not yours.  This is why so many today are psychologically fragmented, and do not feel like whole, complete beings deep inside.  They have pieces of the puzzle which do not fit and are missing pieces which should be intact.  Only a union with God can reintegrate them into wholly functional beings again.

Gods commandments are for our protection.  Our nature is to break those commandments, because of our commonality with Satan, resultant from Adam and Eves disobedience and consequent ejection from the Garden of Eden.  The spirit of man has been contaminated thereby, and only a regeneration through union with Christ can open the door to union with the Creator again.  The only way back to Eden is through Christ.  He alone is Gods solution to our condition.  [To be continued]
