| January 5th, 2001 - Who's Yo' Daddy? Once I read a true story about a person who dared to break away from the comforts of society and spend some time in the wilderness of Alaska to practice survival techniques. In a remote location, far from civilation, city lights, air traffic, and man-made noise, the author says although it took a few months to adjust to the change of pace, eventually he experienced a new awareness and affinity to nature and a oneness with his surroundings. His instincts and senses became heightened, more astute. And there was a distinctive, vibratory hum of the earth which he could hear and feel all around him. How curious that he had never felt that before! We are surrounded by a conundrum of media, commercialism, and shapers of current human thought, past and present. The influences are wide and varied and we may pick from a veritable smorgasborg of traditional, contemporary and pop culture icons to suit our particular tastes and individual preferences. There does seem to be, however, an underlying commonality of human synnergy and global thinking which shapes the megatrends of our collective consciousness, a paradigm of coincident uniformity which streamlines the popular definition of world class in entertainment, economics and commercial appeal. What is your world view? Where does your particular perspective come from? How unique are you? What scents have contributed to the pot pourrie of personality that is you? Is it original? Is there anything new under the sun? "But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets..." (Daniel 2: 28) "...but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits (feats, mighty deeds)." (Daniel 11: 32) The promise of God is that as you seek Him and His knowledge He will reveal His secrets to you. As a loving Father desires to instruct and prepare His children for life, so God desires to show you the mystery, drama and wonders of His creation. He desires to equip you and empower you to do exploits! He wants to infect you with His zeal so that you may infect others to break free of societal molds and take their unique place in His plan. "But as it is written, Eye has not seen, neither has ear heard, neither has it entered the heart of man the things that God has prepared for them that love Him. But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, Yes! The deep things of God. For what man knows the things of man, except by the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the things of God no man knows, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we may know the things that are freely given to us of God... but the natural man does not receive the things of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (I Corinthians 2: 9-14) It just keeps getting better! Not only does God promise to unveil deep secrets and mysteries to you personally by His Spirit and out of His word but He promises everlasting rewards and shining star status in the next life because of His gift of wisdom to you! "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament (the cosmos); and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.... And wait till you hear what else the Bible says in this verse about our busy age of transportation and communication! " ...But you, O' Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end [when] many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 12: 3,4) In our time, when many are running to and fro, and knowledge is increased (our computerized, technologically advanced society), God is making the infallible proofs of His word known to us. The bible has never been proven wrong by historical record, archaeological evidence or by any other science, in fact it is contiuously supported by such. Read God's word with an open mind and ask Him to reveal His secrets to you. You will be surprised at the eventual outcome... not to mention, eternally grateful! |
