| Wrong Answer "Necessity is the Mother of Invention. A loaf of bread is a necessity. An amphibious jeep is an invention. Therefore, a loaf of bread is the mother of an amphibious jeep." In philosophic studies this is presented as an example of sillogistic reasoning, a form of logical phallacy. Before the events on 9/11 took place many people were lulled into a false sense of security. The assumption that we have time and life goes on is the ostrich head in the sand, so to speak. Many have snapped out of such false illusions and have become much more aware of the necessity: Constant vigilence is the price of peace. Heretofore commonplace leaders have risen to the occasion and in some cases become internationally known as great. Public school teachers who once supported contrived grievances against the mention of God and the pursuit of public prayer are now swallowed up in the wake and carried along by the tides of literally millions of students who insist on "God Bless America" and other displays of faith in God and patriotism. "Things Have Changed." -Bob Dylan A dog with a savoured bone will drop it for a piece of steak. It would be stupid to question a fire escape when you and your loved ones are in danger of being burned. Drastic times call for drastic measures. No one just slips and says, "Oops! I went to hell!" Somewhere value judgements were made, choices were made, acts of willful blindness, violations of God-given conscience, rejections of rational thought, and probably the worst culprit of all, an openness to whatever feelings may come along. But have times really changed much? Players go on playing. Haters go on hating. Victims become abusers. Men and women sober up and ally forces to combat a common foe and then recede back into their idiotic factions and prejudices. There will be times of tragedy and times of peace in days to come. But the Bible warns that the tragedies will come in increasing magnitude and frequency until Christ returns. And that just before He returns there will come a world leader who will bring peace but he will also deceive many and lead them away from God. The power of his deception will be with all lying signs and wonders. God will allow many to be deceived by him?!?! Why would a loving God do that? "...because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (II Thessalonians 2: 10) "And as he (Paul) reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgement to come, Felix (the governor) trembled, and answered, Go your way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for you." Wherever you find yourself in life right now, do yourself and the rest of us a favor and seek the truth at any cost. Learn to love the truth. Don't put it off. Don't be deceived by your stupid feelings. And don't wait for a convenient season! Be vigilent. Protect your freedom. Watch over your soul. Receive the love of the truth. It might just save your life, not to mention your soul... NEXT |
