I'll try to chronicle my attempt to turn a $100.00 1974 standard VW beetle
into an off road baja bug of sorts. This site will be anything BUT fancy,
I just don't have the time or the inclination. But I will have lot's of photo's.
Here's what I'm starting with:
I live in a condo without any place to really work on it, but my wife and I
start moving into our new house with a garage in three more days! So far I have
replaced the clutch cable, plugs and points, distributor cap and rotor.
Installed new valve cover gaskets (and adjusted the valves), new manifold boot
gaskets, fuel filter and fuel lines (between the pump and carb), rebuilt the carb,
and installed a quick shift kit.
I also installed 4 KYB gas shocks, but that was before I decided to lift it, so
even though they're brand new I'll have to replace them.
I have a lot of parts I've been slowly buying over this past winter. Oh, by the
way - I bought this car last October and it is currently the end of March 2006.
I promised lot's of pix, so here we go. Probably be a good idea to split them into
different pages to keep the load times down.
