Captain J Reports on 4/11/01:
April is the month to keep a fishing pole in your trunk. Better yet, carry a spinner and a flyrod with a change of clothes and wading boots. The weather and fishing are just unbearably good. When you can't take it anymore, you'll be ready.
Topwater bass fishing is at its best in April, particularly around dawn and dusk. Now is the time to hit those neighborhood ponds and lakes on the way to/from work, or during lunch, and take a few casts. You'll be surprised to see what lurks your local duck pond.
With daylight savings time, why not knock-off an hour early and head to your favorite flat? You can easily get in a couple of hours of fishing after work. The weather is warm, but thunderstorms are not much of a threat and the bugs are still at tolerable levels. Boat traffic dwindles late in the afternoon and the fish usually turn-on at dusk.

Tarpon are in at Boca Grande. Confidential sources report jumping
several, and landing a few, while fishing unidentified flies at
undisclosed locations on or about April 8th.
[End of sanitized report.]
That's all I have to say about that.
