Here is yet another excellent concert from the Zoo-TV tour. This one is indoors, and it features a few rare tracks
that you won't find on any other DVD unless you get the FBI to do an investigation. These include "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses,"
and a cover of ABBA's "Dancing Queen," featuring two of the original band members. The only bad suprise on this one is that it's missing
"New Year's Day," although you can find that song on almost every other DVD. Maybe Sweden doesn't celebrate that holiday? What am I
on, of course they do.
The quality is good overall, but the one drawback is the wavy stuff on the screen that appears throughout the video. If you're a true fan,
that won't matter too much. Bono makes a suprise entrance before "Zoo Station" begins. He starts singing a bunch of jibberish, and that's just fine
with me. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" features the entire band, and it's probably the best performance of that song that I've seen
so far. Why so? It leads into a neato performance of "Stand By Me," where Bono leaves the stage and the rest of the boys finish it off with the Edge
on vocals. Another thing I like about this, and it's kind of a cheesy thing to like, but at one point you catch Adam doing background vocals, which is something you
don't see too much of nowadays.
Another great part of the concert is the first few songs on the second disc. "Bad" is followed by a snippet of "All I Want Is You," a great
song that rarely appeared on the Zoo-TV tour. Just when you think they're going to do the whole song, err.. sorry to spoil the surprise if you
know what I'm about to tell you.
If all that isn't a bag of chips, there's also great camera work, but the waving picture quality might interfere a little.
The sound is great, with the exception of a small hiss in the background. The menus are great, both play songs. The second disc also contains a small
special feature - 2 songs from U2's Stop Sellafield concert, which was to protest against nuclear waste. Obviously, the best thing about the
DVDs is the concert itself. It doesn't matter if the picture was wavy, heck, a hyena could be in the front row, and it would still be good.
If you're looking for another great U2 concert, this is quite a contender.
