Now all with da show.The story will be told from Serena's point of view, Darien's a little but and the rest will be narrarted. MAKING SACRIFICES(Part 3) By:JLaLa Serena felt a wave of dizziness as she walked down the street with her friends. The senshi were on their way to the ice cream parlor. They had spent there day finding dresses for graduation in two days. The summer air was hot and dry which didn't help Serena who could hardly walk. Before she could stop it she started to fall to ground in a faint. The scouts call her name and helped her up. "Serena, are you okay?", Mina asked as she looked at Serena with her worried sea blue eyes as her long blond hair tumbled down while she helped her ill friend. "I'm fine it's just hot", She responded and fixed her blue skirt. "I haven't been well lately I think I been overworking or something" "More like spending time with your boyfriend", The burgundy haired girl with the fiery temper said. Rei smiled knowing that Serena had spent her nights with Darien. Blushing Serena looked at the ground. "Try not to spend every moment with him, okay?", Lita said while she let Serena lean against her tall body and her brown haired ponytail was wet with sweat. "Alright", She agreed as they entered the ice cream parlor. All of them ordered and soon had big piles of ice cream in front of them. Serena would usually be eating like a pig by now but her stomach turned and she only looked at her dessert. "Are you all right?", Ami asked her and before she could respond Serena ran to the bathroom. Every looked at each other with scared eyes thinking their friend was horribly sick. ************ In the bathroom Serena flushed the toliet. Vomiting was not her usual symptoms when she was sick. Her blond hair was dull and sweat matted made it stick against her forehead. Suddenly a thought occured in her mind and Serena's eyes flickered with fear. I can be..., she thought. Rushing out of the bathroom and sat down with her friends. "You guys I just realized I had to do something", She said quickly grabbing her purse. The senshi looked at her pale, sickly face and said goodbye. After she left they began to speculate on Serena's problem. "She's probably going through some stress", Lita said and the others agreed. Graduation anxiety was normal they were all going through it. "There's something weird about it", Raye responded and her forehead wrinkled in thought. "It's seems like there's more to it.I have a feeling..." "But it Serena's problem and when she's ready she'll tell us", Mina told them. Ami was the only quiet one for her thoughts were on an idea in her head. She can be..., Ami thought but all the symptoms and the talk they had. It seem likely but not a sure thing. She grimaced hoping it wasn't a sure thing. ************ I sat in the Doctor's office. Waiting for an hour had made me nervous and I was twisting a magazine. In the ice cream parlor I swear Ami knew what was going on. The nurse called my name and I went into the examination room. A minute later a middle-aged woman with glasses and graying brown hair entered. "Serena Tsukino?", She asked and I nodded. "I'm Doctor Thomas. What's the problem?" "I'm not sure yet but I think I might be...pregnant", I answered looking down. How could this happen everything was beginning to be perfect. "Age?", She asked writing in a folder. "17" "17", She mumbled and looked at me. "We'll run a test and get some blood" She walked up to me with a needle and got some blood. The pain didn't seem to matter anymore. "Okay now you could just wait here and I'll have the results in an hour" ************* Serena waited in the examination room when the doctor entered. Doctor Thomas beckoned her into her office and sat down in a chair. Putting her folder on the desk, she opened it. After she was finished she folded her hands. "Serena, The test is completed and though I'm sorry to say it came out positive", She said and Serena put her head in her hands. Tears fell from her face. "I assumed you didn't expect this but there are options. You can keep your baby or put it up for adoption. Also you can have an abortion" "No", She said firmly."Abortion is not an option of mine. Thank you Doctor. I'll pay up front" Getting up she gathered her things and walked out the room. ************ The Graduation was under way and Serena sat in her chair with her hands folded in her lap. Her white gown went to her ankles and the tassel of her graduation hat was in her face. Ami was on stage saying her valevictorian speech and Serena wiped a tear of pride off her face. They had made to the end of high school and a new life was beginning for the students. "Life takes us through many paths in our life", Ami began with lovely melodic tone to her voice. She enraptured the audience. "Some of them will be hard but we must endure in order to find the right one..." Serena thought her path would be especially hard. She had told no one about her pregnancy even Darien, she was waiting for the right time which wasn't now. Looking around she saw her friends Mina looking radiant with smile on her face, Raye with a serious look in her eyes listening to Ami's speech, Lita with tears of happiness, and Ami up on stage with a reassuring grin on her pretty face. Molly and Melvin sat together. Her parents sat in their seats with proud looks on their faces even her brother looked happy for her. Darien sat next to Sammy much to her father's dismay. His look of bliss for her made her feel melancholy, Serena hated to ruin his happy feeling. She loved him so much and thought was unbearable for she was the one who tried so hard to make him happy. Soon Serena was about to recieve her diploma and as they called her name a wild applause rang out from the crowd. Her friends were yelling and hooting loudly. Also her family clapped excitedly till all their hands turned red while Darien whistled loudly and screamed "That's my girl!" which made her blush beautifully. Before they knew they all had graduated and the senshi were hugging each other. "Ami, you were wonderful", Exclaimed Serena and kissed her friend on the cheek."You held the audience in your hand". The others agree whole-heartedly. Serena's family and Darien walked toward them. Her mother was crying proudly and hugged Serena. Her father kissed her cheek and hugged her hard while her brother handed her a pink stuffed bunny and balloons. Darien stood aside till her family was finished congratulating her. Then without warning grabbed her and hugged her while he kissed her right on the lips. In front of everyone. Her friends laughed and whistled while her brother made gagging noises. Ilene Tsukino smiled as she watched the romantic scene but Ken Tsukino turned red while steam practically came out of his ears! "I'm so proud of you", Darien whispered in her ear as she leaned against his chest and hugged him. "You looked beautiful up there on stage" "Thanks", She answered."You coming to my house right?" "Yeah", He told her as they held each other."Your mom invited me for lunch" "Really?!", She said surprised as she raised her eyebrows. "Watch out for dad. Right now he looks like he's going ballistic" They both laughed and let go of each other. "Mom, Darien's givng me a ride, okay?" "Sure sweetie", She said and took her angry husband to their car. "We'll meet you at your house, Serena", Mina said and they all headed to Ami's new car. A graduation present from her mom. Serena waved goodbye and followed Darien to the car. As they drove to Serena's house Darien noticed her silence as she looked out of her window. Serena was looking at a two little girls eating candy, both looked adorable with their blond curls and emerald eyes.They were what she hoped her baby would like. For a moment Serena was actually happy about her baby. "Sweetie", Darien said calling her back to the real world. His noticed something about her. "You look different, like you glowing" Smiling at her lovely face. "What were you looking at?" "Nothing important muffin", She said as they pulled up on her driveway. When they went in everyone greeted them as they all gathered in back yard for a picnic. Ken was manning the grill as Ilene set everything up while the group of friends sat under a tree. "So Serena", Ami asked her."You still having that sickness, you had two days ago" "No I'm fine", She said smiling up at everyone like it all good but underneath a nervous feeling went up her spine.Darien looked at her worried cause she hadn't told her about her illness. "You had us freaked out", Lita said."Passing out on a sidewalk and all" "You passed out?", Darien asked and looked at her hurt."Why didn't you tell me?" "Cause Sweetie it wasn't important", She answered reassuring him."I'm fine just a little tense 'bout graduation and all" She sipped her drink so she couldn't answer any more questions. Thankfully Ilene called them saying the food was ready and every rushed to get some. Serena walked a little slower for her stomach was beginning to rumble. Soon everyone was finshed and all of them began to leave. Mina had a date and so did Lita. Ami was goin to dinner with her mom and Rei was celebrating with her Grandpa and Chad. Serena's parents were going to the movies with Sammy. "I'm gonna going out with Darien", Serena said while she kissed her mom and dad goodbye. When they were out the door Serena kissed Darien on the lips, happy cause the events of the day went well. They drove to the house and Serena sang a song that was on the radio. It seemed like all was well but she knew it wasn't ******************* I looked out at beautiful view of Tokyo from the roof of Darien's apartment building.The sight was breathtaking but it didn't matter right now. I was gonna tell him soon. He sat next to me holding my hand and looking at the sky. The sun was beginning to set. "So what you gonna do now you've graduated?", He asked as he smiled at me obviously proud of my accomplishments. "I really don't know", I said. "Right now I feel as the world is just opening up for me. You ever feel like that?" "I feel like that right now", He looked at me. "I have you who I love so much and soon I might be a doctor which I've always wanted to be. All my dreams our coming true". His eyes had a spark in them which I didn't wanna put out. "My only other wish is to marry you" He looked at me with such love and adoration the words wouldn't come out of my mouth. "And after we're married and settled maybe in a few years we'll have some kids". "Kids?", I said with a lump in my throat.I looked down at the street and saw a family walking hand in hand. "Darien, do you like kids?" "I love 'em but I think we should wait a few years to have them", He answered and my eyes fill with tears. I felt like I had ruined his life and that tore me apart. Getting up I looked at the sun going down to it's slumber. The moon began to come out from it's sleep and the stars were sparkling announcing their arrival. My love for him was strong and the thought of ruining the dreams he worked for desperately tore me apart. I decided I can't tell him. Tears ran down my face but I didn't let him see. I couldn't let him see. *************** That night Serena looked out her window at the stars of summer night. She held a deep sadness in her heart for she had come to a decision. Her parents were still out and Luna was out with Artemis. She would leave for San Francisco tonight. Deep in her heart she didn't want to leave but she could not dishonor her family, she loved them dearly. To the Senshi she would be a burden. How could she fight fat and pregnant? Most of all Darien who she loved so much it hurt, whose dreams would be ruined if he had to support a pregnant teenager. Picking the phone she called for taxi to pick her up in half an hour. She packed few clothes for she knew she couldn't fit them soon. She had save a lot of money, enough to buy a ticket. While waiting for the taxi she scribbled a note to her family. Dear Mom, Dad, and Sammy, I have to leave. The reason I cannot say, it hurts too much. I feel horrible to have hurt you guys for I love you beyond words. Maybe one day we'll see each other again but for now I have to leave. Don't look for me because it won't work. Keep it in your hearts that I love you. Serena A honk was heard outside and she took her bags downstairs. Before leaving she took one last look at her house and left her old life behind. ******************* The airport was busy even though it was so late in the evening. Serena had her ticket and had gave her bags to the attendant. Before leaving she scribbled two more notes. One to the Senshi and one to Darien. She stopped at a post office in the airport. "Can you have delivered tommorrow morning?", She asked the woman behind the counter. "Sure thing Miss", She answered giving her a smile. Over the intercom a message was heard about Serena's flight.They were boarding. Taking a breath she headed to her gate. **************** Serena sat on the plane and the engines were coming on. She looked out the window and for the first time in awhile she sobbed loudly not meaning to but not being able to hold it. People looked at her feeling sad for the pretty young girl in hopeless despair. The plane lifted off and Serena said goodbye. **************** The following morning Rei heard a loud knock on her door. Outside the delivery for her.She signed for it and looked at the envelope. Inside was a pink paper with a bunny on the top. Reading the letter tears came to her eyes. Dearest Senshi, You have been my dearest friends since the beginning and it's hard to say goodbye. But I have to. I wish all the luck and love in my heart to you. Leaving is so hard but this is to save you from the burden. I love you all. Serena Quickly Rei ran to the phone calling all the Senshi to show them the sad note. Rei was Serena's best friend and it felt like her heart was ripped out. She wished that she could have told her that how much she cared. ************** The doorbell rang at Darien's apartment. He had gotten out of the bathroom still in his pajamas. Outside the door a delivery man stood.Opening the door he greeted him. "Are you Darien Chiba?", The man asked and he handed him a envelope. Closing the door he sat on the couch and opened the letter. My Only Love, Please Forgive me for leaving. One day if we meet again I will explain but for now I can't. I have loved you since the moment I saw you and be sure that you have not left my soul. Every heartbeat in me says your name and it will always be that way. Take care My Darling and Once awhile think of me. I love you always. Serena Throwing the letter on the floor Darien sobbed silenly. What he didn't know was that in a plane his princess sobbed also. *************** The senshi sat on the soft grass of the park that afternoon. All of their eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying. They couldn't figure out why she had left. Her family had called them in search of information but they had none. "Do you guys think we did anything mean to her?", Mina asked tears running down her face. "No I don't think so", Lita said in anguish. "Nothing but the usual fights with Rei." "She knew that I cared and plus she didn't even mind anymore", Rei said while she ripped grass from the ground in anger towards herself. "Serena stopped crying about it years ago. So it couldn't just start bothering her again" "How about her and Darien?", Ami asked. "Were they having problems?" "No everything was going perfect", A sad and broken voice said behind them.Darien had decided to take a walk when he saw them. He was a pitiful sight with his rumpled clothes and hair. His dark eyes had lost their gleam and his face was unshaven. Darien sat against a tree and they observed his remorseful face. "Well actually I did noticed one thing", Ami said and they turned to her to listen. "Remember when we were in the ice cream parlor and Serena went to the bathroom. Then came out saying she had to leave. I remember she had look of utter sadness like she was about to cry. She had the same look on her face when I was saying my speech at graduation but when she got up to get her diploma it was like she was okay again" They all looked up at her but they couldn't say anything and for long time they sat in silence. ******************* Serena had awaken because the plane was landing and the noise had bothered her. Soon they on the Ground of San Francisco Airport. She got up and got her carry-on luggage.When she got off the plane a feeling of excitement ran through her, the first good feeling she had.
