Review: Urotsukidoji is a film series created by a hentai film animator in Japan. The series in total is over 7 hours long, and, even though it seems like it would be a really bad show to watch, I was actually surprised at how well the storyline flowed. Taking place mostly in Tokyo, Urotsukidoji, especially this series, which the first of two, is compelling and violent, with many gruesome death scenes and way too much anime sexuality. I enjoyed the first three episodes of this series, but as the show progressed it got sloppier and nastier, and I lost interest.
Storyline: A young high school student named Negumo finds out from a demon boy that he is in actuality the reincarnation of the demon god. The demon realms and the Beast realms attempt to use him for their own evil purposes, and he tries extremely hard to hold on to his humanity and to his sanity. Thats the basic story and plot of the first series. Negumo must survive the war between the three realms of demon, beast, and man and decided what he is going to do with his strange power. This film is definitely not suitable for nearly ALL viewers, but it is worth a look at if you want to see the darker side of animation. |
