Review: Like most Japanese Animation movies, "Galaxy Express 999" is rendered in beautiful colors and excellent artistic styling. The movie is a two tape set, which were sold sepearatley, chronicling the life of a young boy who seeks revenge for his mothers death. I liked this film, it was indeed boring at times, with extended dialogues and boring subtext, but the dialogue only brings out more of the plot and the storyline. Id recommend this one for any anime fan out there that needs a break from the action-packed DBZ era.
Story: Galaxy Express 999 takes place in an unknown future, where mankind has found a way to become immortal by placing their brins inside of robotic bodies. Unfortunately, once the brain in put in its metal container, the robotic body causes the brain to go bad, and the robots become sinister mortal haters, bent on destroying biological lifeforms. This takes us to the hero of the story, a young boy whose mother was hunted down like an animal by a robot and killed. He seeks justice and gathers together weapons to fight "The Baron". Helping the boy is a mercenary vessel known as The Galaxy Express, which is an interstellar train. Its interesting, and its fun. |
