AS DARKNESS FADES

As darkness fades into light,

the scarlet, autumn leaves of the trees are but a

silhouette against the strong rays of the fresh, shining sun.

Drops of dew weighing down the orange petals

of wild flowers reaching towards the sun,

silently fall to the far away ground.

The wind whistles through the

long, brown grass, brushing against my legs.

The perpetual waves turn from black to blue,

as darkness gives way to light.

Tears rush down my face,

surprising my self, as I walk down this unfamiliar place.

Your brutal words left me shattered,

never quite finding all the pieces.

As darkness fades into light,

I find myself no longer needing you,

as a false, blinding light.

For I have found a gentle, guiding light,

within myself, along this path of stunning beauty.
