I called myself a virgin with a capital V

Never made love

Never kissed a guy

Never even been on a date

Then you came showing an interest in me

that I had never experienced before.

It was fun at first,

but then you said those three words

that complicate things forever.

Little did I know you didn't mean what you said.

In short order the seduction began.

I crossed the line so fast

I never knew what hit me.

It was my first time in more ways than one.

It was my first time lying to my parents.

It was my first time

being knocked off my high horse

to make a grave mistake.

But you took care of all my firsts.

All the way down to my first heartbreak.

I wonder sometimes late at night.

Did you ever love me?
