Our Story - Page 2
I would like to start by saying "Thank You!" to Becky. ! She is the nurse that was on duty, and recommended that Bradley go to the nursery for observation. If it wasn't for her, I'm sure we would have been going home that day. I don't know how things would have turned out, had we been released from the hospital. Thank you for having a keen eye, and knowing your job!
And, most of all,  I would like to thank Dr. DuBois for his incredible talent for healing sick children.
You saved my son's life.  You are my hero!!!
~Update~ August 2nd, 2001
Bradley had a checkup with the surgeon today, and everything is still great.  He told us that is wasn't necessary to come back in another year, unless we run into any problems.  Bradley was given a rectal exam, and the surgeon said that his little bottom was a little "tight", but that if Bradley wasn't having any problems passing stool, then he wouldn't worry about it at all.  "If it isn't broke, don't fix it", is what he said.   So, in a year, all I have to do is call the surgeon and check in with him over the phone, provided that everything is still great.   Knock on wood!!!

~Update~ March 2002
Bradley is still doing great.  But, we will have to switch doctors which makes me a little nervous.  Kaiser Insurance is not going to be offered through our employer an longer and when we applied for a personal pay version of Kaiser,  Bradley's application was denied for having a pre-existing Serious Medical Condition.  It is ridiculous since we are current Kaiser members.  I really wanted to stay with Kaiser because they have taken great care of Bradley so far, but I guess they feel that Bradley would cost them too much money.  I will update again when we find a new doctor.
~Update~ December 2002
Well, we were able to stay with Kaiser after all.  Our employer decided to offer Kaiser, and we were able to join with open enrollment.  So, Bradley is able to continue to see the same doctors has he has since birth.  We have recently begun potty training which has not proven very sucessfull.  I don't know if it has to do with the fact that he is not at all interested, or his condition is making it more difficult.  Hopefully, this won't take too long.
~Update~ March 2003
Bradley is still doing great.  Although he still is not potty trained, he is a normal 3 1/2 year old with a ton of energy and imagimation.  Just as soon as I get some recent pictures taken, I will update the Photo page also.
~Update~ October 2003
It has been 2 months since Bradley's 4th birthday.  He is doing very well, and we are looking forward to him starting Kindergarten next Fall.  He says that he isn't going to school, but I assure you, HE IS!!!
~Update~ March 2004
HURRAY!!!!!!!  Bradley is finally potty trained.  When we finally put our foot down about buying diapers, he decided he would just go ahead and go on the toilet.  It took some bridery, but he finally gave in.  Bradley will be in Kindergarten in September, and we just had his Kindergarten Physical, and he did great!  Now we are all set.
~Update~ April 7, 2004
Bradley is in the hospital with a bowel obstruction.  We will find out tomorrow when he will have surgery. Dr. Dubois will be doing this surgery, also. I will update again after the surgery on Brad's progress.
~Update~ April 9, 2004
Bradley had exploritory surgery last night to find out what the obstruction was caused by.  They found that he had a abdonimal wall adhesion constricting on the small bowell.  They cut away the problem area.  Bradley is still recovering, but is doing well.  He can't wait until he can have an orange popsicle.
~Update~ April 16, 2004
Bradley is home and doing fine.  Our recovery time was very fast, due to the surgery being laperscopic. He is eating fine, and running around like nothing was ever wrong.  He finally was able to have his orange popsicle and he had 5 of them the first day.
~Update~ September 5, 2004
Well, Bradley just finished his first week of Kindergarten.  So far his HD has not been an issue.  He was very excited on the first day of school.
~Update~ October 3, 2005
Bradley has completed his first month of first grade.  His is having a wonderful time and making lots of new friends.  His teacher is GREAT, and I'm sure he will turn out brilliant.
