2. R. Luther Hopkins
Luther was summoned to court along with George Woodworth and Martha Woodworth on November 4, 1908 in the trial of the State of Arkansas versus Jess Powell.
Luther's wife struck him in the head with a ford car axle as he slept. The killing was called "justifiable". She was exonerated by a coroner's jury and on May 12, 1921, she collected the life insurance on his policy. The Atkins Chronicle, April 8, 1921 and The Atkins Chronicle, May 13, 1921.

3. Charles Hopkins
Charles is found in the Atkins Chronicle, Friday 10, 1908 Issue under the Circuit Court Proceedings:"The following state cases have been disposed of as indicated: Chas. Hopkins, gaming, not pros."Per his son's birth certificate, Charles was 34 years old in 1908. He was born in Louisiana and his occupation was a brakeman.
There is a Charles Hopkins in the 1920 census in Cotton Town, Yell County, Arkansas. This is six miles south of Atkins. He is listed as age 35, born in Illinois. Luther Hopkins, age 37, born in Illinois is listed four dwellings away. This Luther Hopkins was summoned to court with Martha Woodworth and her father George. He was murdered by his wife on April 5, 1921.
