I've always enjoyed this recipe, even on hot summer days. Somewhere in one of Mom's cookbooks, this recipe was published. I think it might have been one of the local church cookbooks. It's fast, easy, and satisfying. I prefer to eat this with some French Fries, especially the real big fat ones, so I can soak up the leftover liquid with them. This was also the very first recipe I can remember of Sloppy Joes, although I remember eating something like it at school.
Brown beef, onion and celery together. Add soup, relish, ketchup, salt and pepper. Cook on low heat until liquid thickens and sticks to meat. Serve on hamburger rolls. This can be prepared early, or kept in the fridge for several days.
