Deep Into the Snake Pit With Cobra (m)

I met Cobra (m) some time in the fall of 1997 in the Penthouse. He's a little weird at times, but then again, I have yet to meet someone in the Penty who isn't weird. (*Footnote to all Penty Reg's: Admit it, we're all weird. And no hate mail...*) Remember to check out The Snake Pit when you're done.

Allrighty, then! Let's get this show on the road!!!

Question: Is there anything you'd like to reveal about yourself?
Cobra (m): I think the thing that I would most like to get across to people is this, I am who I am! That seems very vague doesn't it. But to explain, a lot of people on the net aren't what they appear to be. Some lie, some fib, some exaggerate, and that is fine. Some use this as a means to do the things they never would do in RL, to take chances that would otherwise slip by, or be a person that they will just never be....I am just not one of those people. I want people to take me seriously when I am being serious, I want them to laugh when I am joking around, I want them to react to the emotions I am experiencing, and I want them to know that they can count on the truth. If you can't be honest about a simple thing such as 'Who are you', then can you really be honest about anything??

Question: What's the story behind your handle?
Cobra (m): The story behind my handle is really quite simple, but a little drawn out, and not really that exciting. When I was about 19 years old, I had a big 4X4 truck. I went and had a big decal of a Cobra put on the hood of it 'cause I thought it was neat. This was back when CB radios were big, and all my friend's named me "Blue Cobra" on the CB (did I mention the truck was blue?). This progressed, and long after I had gotten rid of the truck, my friends still called me 'Cobra'. Then I went out and picked up a '78 Mustang Cobra, and the name was reborn again. I have since been called this by anyone on the net, and I even played for a Softball team last year, and the name on the back of my shirt? You guessed it....Cobra.

Question: What are your goals in life, in general and specific terms?
Cobra (m): Right now my goals are a little under self scrutiny and evaluation. I had always wanted to be a Cop. Since I was four years old I knew that there was nothing else in the world that I would be happy doing. So I kept myself out of trouble (kind of), went on to college and got edumacated!! Then I went to the real world thinking "Hey this should be easy for a white, male, over 200lbs, about 6'6" tall. WRONG!! Of every force that I tested with, I made it from the opening number of anywhere from 500 to 1000 applicants, all the way down to the top 6 (in some cases) or top ten (in others) only to be eliminated due to political pressures from our government for the Police Forces to hire minorities, women, etc. Kinda put a damper on things I guess. So now, my goals are being re-vamped! Who says you can't start over?

Question: What one song seems to be your personal theme? Why?
Cobra (m): The Dance by Garth Brooks. I just find this song to be extremely powerful. It means many things, and yet nothing. It covers past experiences for me, and in the same respect it doesn't even come close to describing them all. If this sounds wishy washy...it is. It's like looking back and finding out that everything that you did was wrong, and how different things would be if you would've done this little tiny thing different...but then, maybe it wouldn't be. The thing is, we all want to change things, and we all say "what if I did this" or "if this would've happened then" ....Things should be left to chance...It can be all summed up in this:
"Holding you, I held everything, for a moment, wasn't I the King, If I'd only known, how the King would fall, then who's to say, you know I might have changed it all, and I, I'm glad I didn't know, the way it all would end, the way it all would go, our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss....the Dance"

Question: What's the single most powerful force that exists? Why is it the most powerful?
Cobra (m): The single most powerful force that exists to me is God. Now I'm not going to preach, cause it's not my style. And it really doesn't do any good. People that want to believe will believe, and those who don't, ...well they don't. Nothing that I say or do is going to change their opinion. I believe that God is the most powerful force because I stand on the ground that he made, I breath the air that he made, I was born unto parents that he made, I eat the food that he made, and I think the thoughts that he made. I believe that he is all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful. I believe that he will punish vice, and reward virtue. And I believe that this will probably be the last time that any of you hear me talk of religion....that or politics!! Scarey subjects *smile*

Question: What's your favorite food?
Cobra (m): My favourite food would have to be Lasagna. I just love it for some reason. High in carbs, starches, protein and cheese. My second favourite food you ask?? Anything with cheese in it! *wink*

Question: If you had the chance to go back in time and change the outcome of a single event, what would it be, what would you do differently to change it, and what impact would it have on your life?
Cobra (m): If I could go back in time, it would be to 1978 to make some sort of attempt to stop the break-up of my parents. I realize that this had to occur, but hey, I can dream. What would it change?? Everything. And as much as I say that I want this, it is for purely selfish reasons. I never wanted to be "one of those kids whose families were split up". I wanted both parents, my brother, and me to be a happy family. Looking back, I would have to say that I would have missed a lot of things in my life if they had stayed together, step brother's, step-sisters, step-parents, living in different cities, having different friends....But you know what...I would have, and still would, trade it all in if I could change that one thing and kept my family together.

Question: What would you rather be doing right now?
Cobra (m): You mean rather as in for a career, or rather than filling out this interview??
The first part is easy, I don't care what I am doing for a career as long as it meets the following:
1] working with people
2] I love my job
3] as long as I have enough $$ to pay the bills and maybe save a little for retirement.
4] I feel as though I am making a difference in someone's life by doing what I do
As for the "other than the interview"....NOTHING! *smiles*

Question: What was the single most embarrassing moment of your life? Explain.
Cobra (m): The most embarrassing moment of my life?? Hmmmm, I don't usually get embarrassed, so this might take a bit.
In all honesty, I can't really think of a time when I was really embarrassed. I've had the usual blush going when someone divulges to a girl that you think she's hot, or when you do something or say something kinda dumb, but never anything to the degree I believe that you are after. Sorry, guess you have to have morals to be embarrassed or something!! *laughs*

Question: How much money do you have in your wallet right now?
Cobra (m): In my wallet?? None. In my front pocket I have $64.60 Cdn (which is about 7 bucks american). I only carry a wallet for I.D. purposes, money stays where it can never go missing!

Question: What's your favorite non-alcoholic drink?
Cobra (m): I would have to say that it would be Iced Tea. The Canadian version, not the American stuff. And a note for the traveller. If you are Canadian and going into the states...don't order it...you'll only get cold tea. Not the sweet tastey beverage that we love so much up here.
