She was everywhere. He couldn't sleep anymore. When he actually tried the only thing he saw was her face. Three weeks had gone by with nothing, not a sign, not a clue, nothing. It was like she had dropped of the face of the earth. Then the phone call came. The phone call that made him hope again. - Mulder, please help me. Her voice. - Scully! - Mulder, please help me. - Scully, tell me where you are! - I can't. I don't know...He... - Just look around. Tell me what you seee. - It's so dark. Please help me. I'm scaared. Then silence. It had just lasted for a couple of minutes but it had lighten the fire inside of him that he needed to go on. She was alive. Scully was alive. She was out there somewhere. Alone and scared. He didn't want to think about the man that had her. He didn't want to think like that. He needed to believe that she was okay. He would find her. Broken. Beaten. The darkness of the room didn't scare her anymore. She had met the devil today. As a child going to church she had learned that she had the strength inside herself to fight off the dark demons of the night. She knew now that it wasn't truth. He had entered her and ripped away a big part of her soul. But she had to fight this. She had to make it through. She had to be strong. The man watched her from his special hideout. She was his now. He owned her. But he knew that he hadn't broken her yet. She had this light inside of her that made her stronger than he had ever believed. But she was his now. He had the time. All the time in the world. Agent John Moss opened the door to the office of the much talked about Agent Fox Mulder. He had heard many things about Mulder chasing aliens. Many said he was crazy others said that he was brilliant. He didn't know what to think. He wasn't there to like Fox Mulder. He was here to find Agent Scully, dead or alive. He didn't care. Mulder hated this man from the start. John Moss was a man that only cared about getting higher up on the ladder to success. He lacked the passion that Mulder had for the truth. He wasn't Scully. Now they would work together to find her. Melissa Jones walked quickly to her car with her heart racing. She hated the dark. She hated the sound of the night. The parking place behind the bar she was working was always dark during this time of night. So she used to park closer to the backdoor but this time she had been late to work and every space was full when she got there. She could feel that someone was watching. She could feel eyes on her. She stopped in her tracks and reached inside her purse for the pepper-spray she always carried with her. She would fight him. Melissa turned around slowly and pulled out her spray with her heart racing. She would scream. She would run. She had a plan. There was no one there. Only the sound of her own heartbeat pierced the silence of the night. She smiled and walked to her car. She laughed a little when she turned the key and got in to her car. She told herself: - You're silly, Melissa. Then suddenly a hand was placed on her mouth and she was pulled back against the seat. She felt the cold steal against the her throat and her heart stopped for a while. Then a pain that was so great that she panicked. The last thing she saw was the blood that painted her hands red. She had a plan. She would fight him. She wasn't put on this earth to give up her life just like that. She had survived many things and she wasn't prepared to surrender just quite yet. She knew he was out there, watching and waiting for her to break. She would win this. He opened the door to her room with his heart racing. He could already smell her. She was so perfect. He could not help but feel a bit clumsy and shy when he thought about her. He wanted her to like him. He wanted to love her. He could feel her close and when he turned around she was behind her. One blow and he was down on his knees. Run! Run! Voices inside her head called out to her to run. She ran out the door as soon as she saw him down. She ran down a long corridor with doors at each side. She knew that he was behind her. She could feel him. Suddenly something hit her on the back of her head and she saw stars. Then darkness. It was a raining when he got to the crime scene. Agent Moss was already there. He was standing with a cup of coffee in one hand watching the corner take away the body. - What have you got? - Nice to see you too, Agent Mulder. Mulder said nothing. It was eight in the morning and he hadn't gotten much sleep last night. - Let's see. Melissa Jones, 25, workingg as a waitress at the bar. Someone used a knife on her. - Do we know who this man is? - No, not much. We have gotten a partiaal fingerprint from the backseat but I have a feeling it will lead to nothing. This guy is good. - Yeah, he's good. But we're better. Wee'll catch him. - He seems to like you, Agent Mulder. HHe left this for you. Agent Moss handed over a photo. The pain that struck his heart when saw what it was so great that he had to grasp for air. The photo showed Scully bound and completely nude. Her face was pale and her eyes were hollow. She was so thin, so fragile. Mulder wanted to hit someone. He wanted to scream out load. - Where did you find this? - The killer had left it in the back off the car for us to find. Mulder starred at the photo and prayed to god that she was okay. Darkness all around. She could feel him close. She could hear him breathing in the dark. She was back where she had started. Her head hurt and she was cold. She was completely nude and she was bound to a chair. - You have been a bad girl, Dana. His voice sent chills down her spine. - Show yourself, your bastard! - Well, well, well, what words you use.. - You think you're such a big man. - You have no idea who you're dealing wwith. - Then show yourself. - Do you believe in heaven and hell, Daana? Her heart was racing now. She would not admit it but she had never been so scared. - I'm not telling you. He was behind her now. She could feel his breath at the back of her neck. - Oh, I think you do. I have seen the ccross you wear. - So what!? - You believe in god. Then you have to know about the devil. - He's not real. - Then why is here today? She could feel his lips on her skin now. She could not avoid them. She could not move. - Please, I'm sorry I ran..I... - Oh, it's not like you, Dana... She could feel his hands on her now. She knew what was coming. She could survive this. - Please, let me go. I promise I'll nott do it again. - It's to late now. You're mine now. She closed her eyes and prayed for strength. His heart raced in his chest as he drew his gun. Fox Mulder looked at his new partner and said: - Let's go. Agent Moss broke the door down with one simple kick and then he ran inside with gun blazing. Arresting Michael White went easier than no one thought. Now Agent Mulder was sitting starring into the cold eyes of Michael White. - We can link you to the murder of Meliissa Jones. We found your fingerprints in the car and we have a witness. It's just a matter of time until we can link you to the other murders. - I'm not talking to you. His eyes were so cold. They had no feeling. - Just tell me where you have her. - Who? - You know who I'm talking about, Agentt Dana Scully. He was smiling now. - She's a beauty, that girl. The anger that rose in Mulder's chest was so great that he hard time speaking. - If you have hurt her in anyway I sweaar I'll.... - She taste really nice, like sugar...RReally nice. Then everything went black and Mulder leaped over the table and grabbed Michael White around the throat. - Tell me where she is or I swear I'll kill you here and now! Mulder could hear the door to the room open but he didn't care. He wanted to squeeze the life out of this man. Agent Moss was behind him. - Let him go, Mulder. Let him go. He wanted this man to suffer. He wanted him to die. He wanted... Mulder let go his grip and White fell to the floor. - Mulder, we have searched his apartmennt but there's no sign of Scully. It's clean. - This is just the beginning. We'll finnd her. Dana Scully refused to cry. She refused to surrender. She had to be strong. He had left her tied to her bed. She was so cold and she was so hungry. She wanted to fly away from this world. She had learned along time ago to be strong so she would not give up fighting just yet. She had no idea how long she had been tied to the bed. The ropes began to cut into her skin. She was so tired. She closed her eyes and fell into darkness. The killer watched her from the door. She was sleeping now. It felt so good to see her like that. Broken. Beaten. He had finally gotten a taste of the lovely Scully. He smiled in the darkness and licked his lips. Michael White paced his cell like a caged panther. He was nervous. His palms were sweaty and his heart was racing in his chest. He could still feel Mulder's hands around his throat. It's just part of the game, he told himself. But it wasn't supposed to be like this. Not like this. The plan wasn't finished. There was still stuff to do. The man would be mad if he didn't do what he had been told. But he was in jail. They had gotten him. What could he do? He looked at his bed and said to himself: - I'll do what I have been told. Then he placed the rope around his neck and the last thing he saw before he gave himself to death was the face of his master. Fox Mulder starred at the body of Michael White. Dead. He had commit suicide one hour before he was due to be shipped of to county jail. - It's a pity. He's our last chance to finding Scully. Mulder turned around and looked Agent Moss straight into his eyes. - Don't ever say that. We'll find her. The light hurt her eyes. She had no idea how she had gotten out. She didn't care. The only thing she knew now was to run, to run towards freedom. She had no idea where she was or where she was going but she had to run. She was free. George Hill, a farmer on his way to town, found her the next morning. She was completely nude and so thin. Her face was so pale and her feet were bleeding. She was lying by the road. He got out of his car and he thought she was dead. But as he came closer she opened her eyes and whispered: - My name is Dana. Take me home. They had found her. She was okay. She was coming home. Fox Mulder walked the halls of the hospital with a smile lingering on his lips. He opened the door to her room with his hands trembling. The doctor told him that she would be okay. She had been badly beaten and she needed to stay still for some days. But she was here: alive. She was sitting up when he entered. She was so pale. - Nice to see you, Scully. He walked up to her and took her into his arms. He holds her there for a while. He wanted to never let her go. - He's dead, Scully. He can never hurt you again. - I know that, Mulder. I never let him.. I'm stronger than that. She looked so sad when he framed her face between his hands. - I never saw his face. He wore a mask.. - He's gone now. Don't think about him.. He's not worth it. - I know. I know. - He'll get through this together. He kissed her lips and said: - I'll never let you go, Scully. She smiled and whisper: - I'm so tired. - Then, I'll go. - No! Stay with me... He smiled at her and said: - I'll stay with you. Go to sleep. I sllay the dragons. She smiled and fell went to sleep. The killer moved in the shadows like a tiger. He was in mood for blood again. He needed the hunt again. The blood in his veins was burning and his heart were beating for the chase. He watched the girl from the shadows and licked his lips. She was beautiful. She was perfect. He would love her forever and ever. He smiled and said to himself: - Oh, you're a bad boy, John. Agent John Moss smiled at his own joke and grabbed the knife. It was time for hunting again. FEEDBACK:.......PlEASE...j_rothen@yahoo.se
