He moved in the shadows, never touching the light. He liked this place. It made him feel calm. The voices in his head called out to him and he knew it was time. She could feel something was wrong as soon as she opened her eyes. The darkness of the room scared her a bite. She would never admit that to anyone, but Agent Scully was afraid of the dark. So many terrible things had happened in this apartment that she had considered several times to move. But she told herself that she wouldn't surrender to some childish fear of the dark. So when she woke that night she tried to convince her that it was nothing. She looked at the clock and found it was close to three in the morning. She got up to get some tea to calm her nerves. Then she saw him. He was standing in the doorway. It felt like heart stopped beating for a while. Everything that she had learned about self-defense and protection went out the window. She froze. She was just about to turn around and grab her gun. But he was faster than her. She felt a pain in the back of her neck and then a wet rag was placed over her mouth and everything went black. His hands trembled a bit when he opened the door to her apartment. His heart was racing in his chest and he had a hard time breathing. FBI was already at the scene. Skinner came out from her bedroom and walked up to him. Mulder wanted to scream out load when he saw what he was holding in his hand. It was her golden-cross, the one she would never take of. - You shouldn't go in there, Mulder. Walter Skinner knew that even wild horses could stop Mulder from going in to the bedroom but he had to try. Mulder walked past him without saying a word. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't move. He was standing in her bedroom, her safe haven. Now everything that was pure had been turned into his private hell. It felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. He had never been so afraid as when he stood there in her bedroom. Her bed was in a mess. Then he saw the blood. It painted the carpet beside her bed blood red. It had left marks on the nightstand. He had never felt such pain as he stood there starring at the blood. - She's alive, Mulder. Walter Skinner was standing beside him. - What happened here? He could hardly say the words. - We have talked to the neighbors but nno one has heard anything. Now one has seen anything. - How can that be? - We'll find her. - It's so much blood. - She's okay. You have to believe that.. - I know. Have you find any fingerprintts? A letter? Something? - No, nothing. It seems like whoever diid this knew what they were doing. - Why her? Why Scully? - I wish I knew. He starred at the cross in his hand and prayed to God that she was all right. Such pain. The pain that ripped through her body was so great that she hardly could breathe. She wanted to scream out load but she couldn't. Her heart was racing in her chest. Everything around her was darkness. She tried hard to keep calm but it was no use. She was so afraid. Her body felt so numb. She couldn't feel her legs. She felt dizzy. So this was hell. The last thing she heard before she fainted was the beating of her own heart. He lived in the shadows as the beast he was. Live was not the right word. He owned them. It was like they followed him around, protecting from the light. He fed on it and it made him stronger. He was a man that loved the case and the fear he brought with him. He was the prince of darkness. Invincible. He could almost hear his own heartbeat in the silence of the night. It was time for the hunt. The blood in his vain was on fire and with every beat of his heart he grew stronger. The hunger was great now. It called out to him and pushed him. She never saw him coming. He pushed her down and placed a knife at her throat. She was young, around fifteen. She was perfect. He placed his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. He looked into her blue eyes and saw a fear that made him feel strong. He loved it. He removed his hand and she screamed out load but her scream drowned quickly in the sound of the city. He smiled down at her and kissed the knife in his hand. She was crying now. This was it. She closed her eyes and prayed for mercy. There on the dark road he opened her up and watched her blood paint the street red. He stood there for a while watching her life draining from her body while the sun slowly warmed his body. Then he smiled and walked on. She was a beauty. He watched her from the doorway. She was sleeping still. He didn't want to wake her. They had all the time in the world; him and the beautiful Agent Scully. He smiled and closed the door. Fox Mulder was standing at his window watching the rain coming down outside. It had been two weeks since she was taken. Two weeks with no clue, with no signs of where she is. The only thing they had was her blood. The blood from her apartment. He had turned over every rock, looked everywhere for her. But she remained missing. He hardly ever slept. If he did he dreamed horrible dreams. He hated to wait. He feared that he would find her one day dead in some gutter. He had prayed to God to give him just one sign, a point in the right direction. But God wasn't listening. She had slipped in and out of consciousness during the first couple of days. But it was hard to tell day from night so she had no idea how long she had been there. The room was not big. There were no windows and the only piece of furniture was a bed. The door was made of steal and she had tried everything to break it down. But she knew she was trapped. She had even screamed until she could no more. She refused to give up hope. She knew he was watching her somehow. She knew because she could feel his eyes on her. He never showed himself. She was given food on a tray by the door and when she had to use the bathroom she had a small, dirty toilet in the corner of the room. This was her private hell. Julia Copper turned over and turned off her alarm clock. It was five in the morning and she had to get up. She was starting her shift at the hospital in one hour. She hated mornings like this. She wanted to go back to sleep but she needed the money. She got up and rapped herself in a blanket. When she turned around she saw him. The man that was standing in the doorway to her bedroom was tall and well built. He was dressed in black and he had a masked that covered his face. She turned around to grab a bat that she kept by her bed. She heard the shot before she felt it. She tumbled to the ground and screamed out load. But she knew no one could hear her. The bullet had entered her body just below her Collarbone. The pain that ran through her body was so great that she couldn't move. He was over like a wolf over its kill. He placed a knife at her throat and looked her straight into her eyes. Then he removed the mask he was wearing. The final thing she saw before she faced her maker was the man smiling down at her and the final thought that came over her was that she never knew why. Then he opened her up and watched her blood paint the floor red. Two hours later he left her. He was totally satisfied, complete. It had happened again. The only thing that was on Mulder's mind when he entered the house of the late Julia Copper was that he thanked God it wasn't Scully. He knew that he shouldn't think like that but he couldn't help himself. He had to keep hoping that she was out there somewhere. He knew that he would find her. It felt like his heart stopped when he entered the bedroom. It was so much blood. The room had been totally trashed. The sheets had been ripped and the mirror was broken. But that didn't matter. Over the bed someone had written in blood: " Scully is a real beauty". He froze. The man was standing with the others watching the police and going in and out of the house. He had seen Agent Mulder going in so he knew that he was going to see the message that he had left for Mulder. The only thing he had wanted was to see his face when he read the message. The man smiled and said: - I guess we can't have it all. The pain woke her. Scully opened her eyes and saw the man for the first time. He was standing over her with some kind of weapon in his hand. She didn't know what. The only thing she knew was that she couldn't move. She had made a mistake. She had let her guard down. She screamed for help even though she knew it was no use. - Scream all you want. No one can hear you. - Let me go. - No, I don't think so. - If you touch me I swear I'm going to kill you. His eyes were so dark. It felt like they could see inside her and see the fear that ate at her soul. He could feel her fear. He wanted her. He wanted to touch her soft skin. He wanted to own her. - Oh, I don't think so, Dana. You're miine now and there is nothing you can do about that. You know that. The reality of the situation hit her with such force that she had to close her eyes. She knew that it was the truth. There was nothing she could do. She couldn't move. She closed her eyes and prayed for mercy. He smiled and leaned down. End 1/2 FEEDBACK------PLEASE j_rothen@yahoo.se
