Wir sind noch nicht ganz fertig

Poetry is my life

Never do anything in a hurry,
Do everything quietly and in a calm spirit.
Do not lose your inward peace
for anything whatsoever,
Even if your whole world seems upset.
Commend all to God and then lie still
And be at rest in His heart.

  THE CLOSING DOOR

There's always a beginning
And there always comes an end,
And so it is with work we do
Along life's path we wend.

We look upon the struggle
That we have just passed through,
And wonder if our efforts
Will have changed the worldly view.

  FAITH

It's possible to face each day
Without fear or dread
If we put all our trust in God
And let Him walk ahead.
No need to sit with troubled heart
When we can seek and find
Problems surrendered to His care
Turn into peace of mind.

The tasks were shared by friends we made,
And some we'll never forget,
We laughed and cried and toiled and sighed
And this is how we met.

And as we lean to close the door,
We take a look around,
And see that all is going well,
And everything is sound.

NOW FOR NOW

Yesterday is gone,
Tomorrow has not arrived.
We have only today to make the most of it.
How do you feel and what is happening
To you and me in the now?

But when you close a door you know
There has to be a place to go,
And this is what's exciting
When you're growing and delighting,
Around the corner out of sight
Is something so inviting!

Now is forgotten and becomes nothing more,
Than a time we pass through
On our way to the future.
What is happening
To you and me in the now?

How do we cope
And live our joys and pleasures,
How do you feel and how do I feel
And how do we share in the now?

TO DENISE

The tapestry woven by sacred hands
We shall some day be able to see,
But now with our dim understanding,
Why is this where we should be?

Let things be, live in today,
Enjoy in the here and now!
Nothing is forever.
I do not belong to you nor you to me,
But we shall share in the here and now.

We try to help along life's road
To each who comes our way,
And just like two stars that glow in the night,
We met each other and now out of sight.

Our little adventure together was short,
Your help was more than you know.
We had some laughs and tears from toil,
And now it is time you should go.

We hope we have given a little of us,
That helped you grow a lot,
We know you'll be a great success,
In your new policewoman spot!
